TV advert for the Samsung Galaxy Note

Is it a phone or is it a tablet? That’s not just what I say but even Samsung themselves.

In the below TV advert for the new device Samsung show off some of the cool features that are available on the Note. With its 5.3" HD Super AMOLED screen the Note is monster of a device but I’m wondering if it is too big to actually use as a daily phone and therefore will sales be limited?

I wont have long to find out though. Samsung are holding an event here in London on Thursday evening so I should have the chance to go hands on with the device.

Nokia Windows Phone 7 phone

Pocketnow has posted some shots of the much touted Nokia Windows Phone 7 phone. With Nokia World approaching, pics of the Nokia 800 have leaked to the internet. Rumoured to be available in three different colours (black, pink, and blue). The pics also reveal a slightly different font, Nokia Music, and Nokia Navigation apps. We should have all the details later in the week. James will be making an appearance at Nokia World. The history books will be written, the Nokia Windows Phone 7 phone, who’d have thought?!?! (Well, me. And gets lambasted for suggesting such a thing 6 months before it’s announced!)

Asus Transformer website goes live

For power-users, the new Asus Transformer Prime Android tablet could very well become the new "de facto standard" by which a host of Android tablets are compared to throughout the beginning of next year. The new power-house flagship tablet will be sporting the new NVIDIA Tegra 3 Quad-Core processor, and could possibly be the first tablet with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Even if it comes with Honeycomb, it is likely that it will get an update to ICS very shortly.
Also, it is likely coming very soon as it’s website landing page has just gone Live! There are no details on pricing or availability yet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus gets dated

Samsung has gone and gotten all official by release date for their Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, the successor to the 7-inch model launched around this time last year. The new device will see a dual-core CPU upgrade and Android Honeycomb. Pre-orders are set to being October 23rd, the 7.0 Plus will land on shelves November 13th with the 16GB model retailing for $399.99. Samsung is pushing TV connectivity with the slate, which comes pre-loaded with Peel and has an IR transmitter built in to remotely control your boob tube. See the full press release below.

Films arrive in the Android Marketplace

Google today debuted a new movie rental store in the Android Marketplace in addition to the ability to purchase books. UK Android users will have 1,000 films to begin with, starting around £2.49. The rental period lasts 30 days and the movie will be available on any connected device the user logs into. That means the user’s Android smartphone, tablet, and even the computer can be used to watch the movie. Sounds brilliant however, once the user starts watching a film, they get 48 hours to finish. If you don’t finish in the 48-hour window, you will have to pay again.

At present the selection of movies is varied. However, as a debut the selection is pretty good. It all seems to link back to your Youtube account.

Strange BlackBerry is real!

We posted images of this funny looking BlackBerry a while ago. It turns out it is actually real. TBreak.com have received an invite to attend an event in Dubai where Porsche will unveil the collaboration device.

I dread to think how much this one is going to cost but I can certainly say this is one BlackBerry I do not want. Personally i think it looks horrid!

Presenting the Asus Transformer 2

A teaser video for the up-coming Asus Eee Pad Transformer 2 device surfaced today. What is even more exciting about this quad-core tablet (and the timing of this video) is that this will be the first Android Tablet running Ice Cream Sandwich (or at least the first one with a teaser video)! It doesn’t show much, but looks pretty good. Enjoy!

Samsung Galaxy Nexus – UK Pricing Confirmed

Clove have dropped us a line this afternoon to let us know that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be priced at £514.80 inc. VAT (sim free) here in the UK. This is for the 16GB model. AT this stage is seems that we wont get the 32GB model at all which may be frustrating for some.

First stock is expected in early November. Hands up who is getting one?

Samsung Galaxy Nexus coming to 3 UK

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus was just announced a short time ago. It wasn’t specifically mentioned during the event which carriers the device would be coming to, it was clear Samsung and Google will be pushing this out with force. That being said, Three has just announced via press release that they will be stocking the “Pure Google” smartphone and the device will be compatible with their upcoming HSPA+ network coming by year’s end. No specific launch date or pricing was given but we’ll keep you posted.

Don’t know about you, but this phone and their One plan is me for the next long while!
