Everything Everywhere open new store in West London

EE-web1

Everything Everywhere will soft launch a new concept store in the White City Westfield shopping centre in west London this weekend before its official opening on Monday.

The store (pictured), is the 20th EE branded store to be opened in the UK and a former T-Mobile store,  will be the first to offer a dedicated in-store service team to support customers needs and sports a new store design to support these needs face to face.

Like the other EE stores across the country it will sell both Orange and T-Mobile products.

All 18 staff at the new store, which is the second largest EE branded store in the operator’s estate, have been trained prior to the opening with a particular focus on the technology, service and product needs of customers.

This focus is further reflected through a dedicated “lounge zone” where customers are able to sit with store staff who can explain how products and services work.

BlackBerry 9790 launches in Indonesia and causes chaos

133585_antrian-blackberry-di-pacific-place

The BlackBerry is already massively popular in Indonesia (6 million users) and the launch of the latest Bold, the 9790 has proved this. With the first 1000 people being offered a 50% discount on the 9790 the people of Jakarta came in their thousands.

Police and officials were prepared but it apparently caused chaos and brought traffic to a stop. When rumors that the device had sold out spread the crowd went a little crazy and it is reported that several people fainted.

I cant see this happening here in the UK!

Kasabian vs Darren Bent in real life Xperia PLAY football match

Darren Celebrating (Medium)

Sony Ericsson in partnership with culture brand Umbro and Kasabian bring together front-man Tom Meighan and England star Darren Bent to play against each other in the first ever, real life video game football match.

To celebrate Sony Ericsson’s ever-growing catalogue of football games, the new viral Kasabian Football Gaming Live sees the gaming world collide with reality.

Tom and Darren took two five-a-side football teams to a real life pitch, controlled by wireless headsets and specially programmed Xperia PLAY smartphones to move the players around.

Never before has a live match been played like this. Sony Ericsson transformed the smartphones to have the ability to command the players to strike, tackle, cross, dribble, slide, pass – just like in the video game, but with real-life footballers.

You can see a video of the match below:

Sony Ericsson announces vscreens.com

vscreensblogs Sony Ericsson have just launched their vscreens Android app which allows Xperia owners to share images and presentations to other internet enabled devices using a cloud service.

Details from Sony Ericsson:

Recently, we tried a service from Sony Ericsson that makes showing images and presentations really easy from your Xperia: vscreens.com, a cloud service that allows you to make any big screen with a browser, like a PC, Google TV, PlayStation3 or Internet enabled screens,  display your content within seconds

With vscreens.com, you only need to download the app from Android Market, then set your browser on the big screen to vscreens.com and hold your phone up  so the app reads the QRcode in the screen, and that’s it! You can start showing off the great pictures you took on your latest trips to your friends and family, without the need of cables, bluetooth pairing or setting up things like  DNLA or SMB servers.

The service works with any device with Android 2.1 and higher versions, so you can use your Xperia phone or any other phone or device with Android.

Super funky stand type cover thing for Asus Transformer Prime

asus-smart-cover-eeepad-1Here is an excellent accessory that was revealed for the up-coming Asus Transformer Prime. It’s a magnetic folding cover, similar to the one for the Apple iPad, but it looks vastly improved and far more impressive. In fact, its design looks inspired by the art of origami, although much simpler to operate. Although there is no word on when this accessory will ship, (just as we aren’t sure about the Transformer Prime either), you can already order the origami like add-on on Amazon.de for EUR 39.99.
There is no word on whether a version will come to the States, but perhaps that might eventually happen.

Galaxy Nexus specs reminder

Galaxy Nexus

With the Galaxy Nexus hitting the high street today I thought we had better post the specifications online for those of you that are thinking of picking the device up. If you are not in the market for a new contract, which is the only way you can get it at the moment, the device will be available to purchase sim free very soon.

Although I have not used the device myself it does look a real beauty and for the first time with Android I feel pretty excited about Ice Cream Sandwich.

You can check out the devices full specs below along with some rather nice images of what may well be one of the best selling phones in the world over the next six months.

Orange officially announce the San Francisco II

Screen Shot 2011-11-17 at 11.08.51

We mentioned rumors of the Orange San Francisco II just last week. The network has today confirmed the ZTE made device will be hitting the shops towards the end of the month.

Orange had massive success last year with the original San Francisco and I don’t see any reason why things should be different this time around. The device is fantastic value for money and will set you back only £99.00 plus a £10.00 top up or from free with a contract.

The device is running Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, has a 5-megapixel camera, 3.5-inch WVGA screen and an 800MHz processor. The Orange HD voice service and Signal Boost are also supported.

You can see more in the video below that Orange have released.
