New HTC devices to feature 1GHZ processors
HTC is rumored to be joining the clockspeed war in the smartphone segment with its latest Windows Phone – theHTC Leo featuring a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
The manufacturer, which has been using Qualcomm’s 528MHz processor on almost all of its present market offerings has been indicating a shift to higher clockspeeds when leaked specifications of the HTC Touch HD2 first surfaced, early this month.
With the competition gearing up their devices with high speed processors along with dedicated graphics,HTC smartphones were losing the sheen in the competitive smartphone segment. However, going by the latest leaks, the Taiwanese manufacturer is showing its intent to be at the forefront of the smartphone market, a segment which it has dominated for a while now.
Leaked images, which first appeared at the Polish forum PDAClub show a swanky HTC device with a mammoth 4" touchscreen with 480×800 pixels in resolution. Rumored specifications of the device include 320MB RAM, 512MB of flash memory, and Bluetooth.
While the device is known as the HTC Leo in the intercirlces of the web, the back panel of the leaked images reveal a HTC Pro Three inscription, fuelling rumours of a quick update to the HTC Touch Pro2.
A closer look at the back panel also reveals a dual LED flash on the onboard camera, the resolution of which is unknown at this juncture of time. The TouchPro Three inscription which may be another skilfully done Photoshop work should be taken with a pinch of salt as HTC has been using its Touch Pro label for its QWERTY equipped Win Mo smartphones.
The device which is yet to be confirmed by HTC continues to baffle tech enthusiasts in the web as detailed specifications, pricing and availability are at best unknown at this stage of time.
