Gun Bros has new pricey unlocks

b_500_274_16777215_0___images_stories_news_gunbros_gun-bros-kraken-gunLooks like Google’s in-game purchases have gone bonkers. In the action shoot-em-up Gun Bros You can purchase a rather expensive gun! We are not sure just yet if this gun is available in the Android version of Gun Bros. The Kraken, which was originally listed at 1400 warbucks, the in-game currency, is apparently listed at 3499 warbucks. This means you would have to spend $500 to unlock it.

That’s £300+ change. Possibly around the same price as your Android phone may currently be worth, depending on your phone of course.

Synaps External Battery Reviews

Synaps External Battery I’ve recently been provided with two different types of external battery power for the Apple iPhone 4.

Both are made by Synaps. The first is the ‘Power case contour battery pack‘ (JP1300).

This external battery has been designed to fit the iPhone 4 and be used as a case as well as a method of charging your battery. Its available in Blue, Red and the colour I have been supplied, Black.

The packaging is clean and displays the product well. It’s typical retail accessory packaging, which can be seen as a negative as it wouldn’t stand out on a shelf of other accessories.

Once opened, you’ll find the battery pack, a micro-usb charger and a manual. It’s a real shame they decided to include a micro-usb charger instead of the official Apple dock connection as this means you need to carry an additional cable with you. The micro-usb cable does work with the USB plug supplied with the iPhone 4.

Vodafone 858 Smart Review

Vodafone 858 Smart The Vodafone 858 Smart is an entry level Android device from the network itself. The phone is entering a seriously crowded market with competition from the Samsung Galaxy Europa and the Orange San Francisco but what sets the device from the crowd is it’s extremely competitive price of £60.

The small Huawei-made handset may be cheap but does the price offset some of the relatively poor specs or is it worth spending a little more on a higher-spec device? Read on to see!

Facebook for BlackBerry Smartphones v2.0 (Beta 4): BBM Integration, ‘Likes’ Notifications and more!

facebook-beta-4-1

From Inside BlackBerry – Today marks the fourth beta release of Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones v2.0. Over the course of the last several months, we’ve introduced a slew of new features and functionality. Starting with the initial Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones v2.0 beta release, we introduced Facebook Chat and a brand-new interface. In the Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones v2.0 beta refresh, we added support for BlackBerry® Device Software 5.0 in addition to some new features and performance enhancements. And the Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones v2.0 beta 3 release included some of the top requested features, like Wi-Fi support, the ability to delete comments and posts, and a new prompt that appears before you delete a Facebook message.

To add to the lineup of features in Facebook v2.0, this beta release includes some highly anticipated additions.

Enhanced Notifications – Get Notified of ‘Likes’

We’ve made several improvements to notifications; the first is that you’ll be now be notified of polled items (that is, notifications that aren’t delivered through BlackBerry push technology), such as ‘Likes’ and Event Wall posts. The notification will even tell you who and what was ‘Liked’, so you’ll never miss a beat in your social life. By default, polled notifications will be set to a one-hour frequency but you can check as often as you like by selecting Refresh from the Menu.

If you are looking for an integrated instant messaging application then this may be the perfect time to try out IM+ Pro or IM+ Talk as they have both been slashed in price. The app is available on BlackBerry, Android and iOS and although I have used on all of these platforms before I must admit it has historically been rather expensive.

Not now though. Grab your phone, jump into your respective app store and search for IM+ Pro or IM+ Talk.

Stay connected to your friends, family and business contacts anytime and anywhere. All-in-one chat app at your fingertips!

You can read more about IM+ and see the new pricing below:

HTC ChaCha review

HTC ChaCha review One of the most interesting phones to come out of Mobile World Congress from HTC was the HTC ChaCha. The Market hasn’t been kind to front facing keyboard, Android devices and there has never been a hit model for this form factor.

Instead of going the whole hog and building a much rumoured Facebook phone, HTC decided to cover both popular form factors, the Candy bar and front facing keyboard, and focus on a heavier Facebook integration. To date the front facing keyboard has only been address by Samsung and Motorola in a more professional yet lower quality approach. HTC saw a gap in the market and pushed out a higher quality, yet cost conscious front facing, Qwerty keyboard phone.

Combining their popular HTC Sense over a popular texting form with the social network manic in mind, how could HTC fail?

HTC Sensation review

htc sensation reviewWhen HTC announced 5 new phones at MWC earlier this year there was some criticism that there wasn’t a dual-core model there in the lineup. With LG and Samsung there with handsets featuring dual-core CPU’s the expectation was that HTC should at least be following the competition, lets face it, HTC are more accustomed to being leaders rather than followers.

However, maybe the critics should have had a little more faith that HTC had something up their sleeves as less than two months after MWC, HTC were holding their own press even here in London to announce the new HTC Sensation. Not only does it include the much coveted dual-core CPU but includes a 540 x 960 resolution QHD display which is the first to have a Gorilla Glass screen that’s curved on all edges.

Other new features such as HTC Sense 3.0 and the 8 mega-pixel camera with instant capture technology and 1080P video recording means that not only is this certainly HTC’s flagship handset but it’s also one of the best specified on the market today.

I’ve been using the sensation for a little over a week, so if you want to find out what I think of it you’ll have to read on!
