T-Mobile UK G1 launch

The guy’s at Techradar got out of bed early this morning and headed down to the T-Mobile flagship store on Oxford Street in London to see what was going on, it seemed the queue make-up was very different to the one outside the O2 shop for the release of the iPhone 3G, not least because the queue only comprised of around 25 people compared to the hundreds that flocked to get their hands on Apple’s latest offering. Overall, the launch was much as expected. Getting people through the doors was a little slower than some hoped, as processing transactions took around 30 mins in most cases.

HTC Touch HD available on the 4th November from Clove

Just received an email from Clove with some great news, “we can today confirm that as of next Tuesday, the 4th of November, we will have limited stock arriving. This exceptional unit has received phenomenal levels of interest and is the ultimate Windows Mobile device. If you want to get your hands on it as soon as possible you can order it right now here. I have ordered mine and hoping to get it on the 5th November, should help the day to go off with a bang!!

Log Me In coming for the iPhone and iPod Touch

As a regular user of Log Me In for my home PC’s this announcement caught my eye. Get fast, simple access to your remote Internet-connected LogMeIn computers whenever you want, wherever you are and soon with your iPhone or iPod Touch. If you haven’t used this before you install a small application on your client PC and then you can access it and take full control from a remote source through the Log Me In web interface, it works really well and has saved me lots of times before. HTC confirm November Touch HD launch

As though we didn’t know this already, but HTC have via twitter announced that the Touch HD is confirmed as November for European and Asian markets. In a separate update they also announced that they will be having an informal meet up in Seattle on the 14th November without any more details than that.

Movement on the Windows Mobile 7 front

MobileTopSoft is forecasting that Windows Mobile 7, the next generation mobile operating system for handhelds and smartphones, will debut this week at the Professional Developers Conference (2008) in Los Angeles, CA. The event’s main focus isn’t Windows Mobile. Other platforms and development projects at Redmond will also be featured at the conference.

T-Mobile G1 available from 9am on Thursday in UK

Just received an email from T-Mobile, if your interested in the G1 Android phone you will be able to order it online from tomorrow or get it in-store from Thursday at 9am. If you fancy being one of the first to see the G1 in the flesh, T-Mobile is hosting an exclusive early opening of their store at 287 Oxford Street, London, W1C 2DP (nearest Tube Oxford Circus). You’ll need to be there for 7am to find out what they have planned for the T-Mobile G1 launch.

iPhone 3G Baseband Unlock nearing completion

While this may have little implication in the greater context of things, the iPhone Dev Team is close to finally coming up with an iPhone 3G baseband unlock solution which was missing when the iPhone 2.0 jailbreak was released. Since iPhones will still solely be available and activated through AT&T stores in the US and O2 in the UK through iTunes and in store contract signing, this latest news will have very little effect in the sales of AT&T. Nevertheless, this iPhone 3G unlock will surely be appreciated by those who wish to finally switch networks.

HTC releases its G1 sales forecasts

HTC is finally going public with the number of G1 phones it expects to sell by the end of the year—600,000 is the figure it is offering up.  Sales projections are a tricky game for device manufacturers. It’s an opportunity for companies like Apple and HTC to boast about how well they plan their products to perform, but it’s also a chance to appear surprised later when they outperform their own forecasts.

HTC Touch HD exclusive on Orange in UK until 2009

Just received a press release from Orange announcing the upcoming HTC Touch HD.

Orange today announced that the HTC Touch HD handset will be available in the UK from early November, exclusively on the Orange network. The Touch HD is a premium multimedia enhanced mobile handset, designed with a focus on entertainment that is set transform how people experience multimedia on the move. More after the break.
