HTC Touch HD video unboxing and overview

image Not really one for unboxing videos however the Touch HD really is such an exciting device I decided to do one. I have done a quick unboxing along with a look around the hardware and finally a quick look at the software side too. First impressions are excellent and the screen is simply stunning. Thanks to Clove also for getting this device out to me so quickly. Full review to follow after a few days of use, any questions about the device leave them in the comments and I will answer them. 3 to announce Facebook handset

image 3 the UK 3G network are rumoured to be ready to announce a new handset after the success of it’s Skype Phone. The phone, manufactured by INQ (Hutchinson Whampoa’s new handset making division), will basically be based on Facebook, meaning that we’ll be seeing unified contacts, texting through messages and IM through Facebook chat. The phone itself, the INQ1 (as it’s the company’s first handset, the name makes sense), is a fairly basic slider, though it carries an HSDPA connection for super-fast network speeds.

HTC Touch 3G video overview

image Coolsmartphone have got hold of the new HTC Touch 3G and posted a couple of videos to see what this device is all about. The videos will give you a tour around the handset, a look at the GPS in action, Opera browser, TouchFLO interface, where the SIM and microSD cards live and a lot more. We have them right after the break and it does look like a nice device if your after something smaller than the Touch HD.

First real pictures of Samsung C6620

image Windows Mobile Italy broke the news a few weeks back of a new Samsung Windows Mobile device which would be running on the Standard (non touchscreen) flavour of Windows Mobile. Now they have got hold of a couple of live pictures of the phone. Check them out after the break. Specs wise it is nothing special and only supports HSDPA on the 2100 band and has a QVGA screen.

Apple wanted to buy Palm in 1997

Free Windows Mobile 7 phones when you buy Windows 7

image The Register is reporting an exclusive that Carphone Warehouse looks set to give away free smartphones running Windows Mobile 7 with copies of the upcoming Windows 7 PC operating system. A phone manufacturer source familiar with the phone retailer’s plans told them that the Windows Mobile 7 phone and Windows 7 bundle boxes will be released on the same day that the new desktop OS is launched in the UK, which he said could come during September or October 2009.

Samsung T*Omnia announced but only for Korea

image Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, a leading producer of mobile phones, today announced the Korean market launch of “T*OMNIA”, the Korean version of “Samsung OMNIA”. Samsung OMNIA, renamed as “T*OMNIA”, will be available from mid-November under exclusive deal with SK telecom, the largest mobile operator in Korea. Compared to the original Samsung OMNIA, “T*OMNIA” will have upgraded 3.3” WVGA touch screen (480×800) and added Satellite DMB function, an essential feature for Korean users who would like to enjoy Mobile TV and internet with their mobile phones any time, anywhere.
