I’m not really into themes but you may remember recently that the BlackBerry P9981 was released in Dubai that had been designed by Porsche.
Some clever sausage has managed to port the theme to the BlackBerry 9900/9930 so if you fancy this new look you can get it today. You will notice it comes with a nice purple wallpaper in the screen shot to the right, but you can change to your own if you so desire.
Remember this will only work on the 9900/9930 so don’t try to download if you have a different device, and also your device needs to run BlackBerry 7 and not 7.1.

It doesn’t seem five minutes since last Christmas but here we are again, another year older!
I just wanted to take the opportunity to say Merry Christmas to you all and a big thanks for visiting the site daily or watching our videos on YouTube. It means the world to us.
Also a big thanks to all the UK networks and device manufactures that supply us with all the phones for review, and not forgetting Clove Technology and The Smartphone Centre who we work closely with and who do a sterling job.
We also couldn’t do it without our dedicated team, who all do the reviews for the love of it, so big love to Vince, Patrick, Chris, Luke and Gareth. (And Matt I suppose!)
So have a great Christmas day and all the best for the New Year.

Yet another BlackBerry Bold running the latest OS version to add to the range. This time the Bold 9790 is the follow on from the 9700/9780 series but brings us some beefed up specs and a 2.45 inch touch screen.
First launched in Indonesia last month this new Bold caused quite a storm and I’m pretty sure we will see millions of these devices in the hands of both business men/women as well as general mobile users.
It feels good, it looks good and with my limited usage it performs like a dream.
You can see our hands on video below where I also compare it to the other current BlackBerry Smartphone’s on the market.
This one has been a while coming but good news PlayBook owners. Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio are now all in BlackBerry App World.
Priced at £4.99 each they are not cheap but they do bring hours of fun. I have already downloaded ‘seasons’ and I can say it is as smooth and fluid as on other platforms and feels great playing it on the 7 inch tablet.
This just goes to prove what a wonderful OS QNX really is.
You can see a few more screen shots below.
Those loveable Angry Birds and the pesky pigs are celebrating the holiday season with fans across the globe, as their new Advent Challenge on Google Chrome launched 25 levels of Winter Wonderland fun. In the run-up to Christmas each day a new level is unlocked with a special 5th December level created thanks to the Samsung GALAXY Note.
Samsung and Rovio first worked together earlier in the year for the launch of the GALAXY S II and have once again come together to offer fans of Angry Birds even more chances to play. Visiting note.angrybirds.com will take you to a Winter Wonderland in which you can send Angry Birds greetings cards, win amazing prizes including a Samsung GALAXY Note and even play an exclusive Angry Birds puzzle game not seen anywhere else in the world.
“It’s so good to team up with Rovio again. Samsung has a had brilliant year and our Galaxy devices are popular all over the world, so to be able to launch a holiday experience inside the most popular mobile game in world is awesome!" said YH Lee, SVP of Global Marketing at Samsung Mobile Communications Business "To all those Angry Birds fans out there: enjoy yourselves and check out the Galaxy Note for an even better mobile gaming experience!”
Everything Everywhere has started the roll out of its interactive SMS/MMS mobile advertising service to selected segments of the T-Mobile customer base for the very first time. The new service which launches on T-Mobile this month, provides a powerful platform for brands to engage and interact with T-Mobile customers and follows the success of Orange Shots which launched last year.
Under the consumer facing name of ‘You Choose’ from T-Mobile, the service will enable brands to deliver fun and creative content specifically tailored to T-Mobile pay as you go and pay monthly customers preferences. The service works by then developing a dialogue with customers to understand more about their interests whilst in return they benefit by only receiving tailored and useful content from great brands that are relevant to them.
I just popped over to the UK BlackBerry website where they have links for some pretty good deals on BlackBerry Curves, the 9360 and 9300.
The links are through various retailers/networks but the prices look pretty keen both on contract and on pay as you go.
You can pick up the BlackBerry Curve 9360 on PAYG for only £219 which is the cheapest I have seen it. Or alternatively contract prices start from £20.50 per month.
Why not head over to the site here and maybe grab yourself a last minute Christmas gift?

The latest update to Facebook for BlackBerry PlayBook tablet – version 2.1 – launched today in the BlackBerry App World. It now includes a much-requested feature from #TeamBlackBerry – Facebook Groups.
That’s right, listening to and incorporating your feedback on the application is very important to the Facebook app team at Research In Motion.
If you haven’t already downloaded Facebook for BlackBerry PlayBook tablet v2.1, you can do so by going to BlackBerry App World (keep in mind it may take up to 24 hours for the new version to appear for some users although it is showing up here in the UK). Let’s take a look at what’s new in this release, shall we?
Congratulations to Neil McDougall (@neil1969uk) from Manchester who was randomly picked to win the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S that SE kindly donated to us to give away.
I even videoed the draw to prove it was fair.
I did however initially encounter a problem that I thought was hilarious. On my first attempt of selecting the winner my mouse cursor landed on Matt’s dad! We decided that if we let him win fingers would be pointed so unlucky Jim Davis, but you will have to go without a prize on this occasion.
So the draw was done again and the cursor landed on Neil. Well done Neil, and thanks to all that entered the competition.
You can see the video below and also a link to the one where Matt’s dad was selected. I chose not to put the actual video in this post as I was so shocked by the result I said a naughty word!
Thanks once again to Sony Ericsson for the kind donation.
