We mentioned last week that we had heard that Samsung were planning to unveil their Galaxy Player at CES. Well, now the player has appeared on Amazon.co.uk and is available to pre order.
There are two versions to choose from. The 8GB at £149.99 or the 16GB for only £179.99. Amazon are listing the Samsung Galaxy Player as being in stock from the 7th but we all know this quite often changes. Anyway, I have my pre order in so we will bring you some videos and a full review in the coming weeks, fingers crossed.
See the product info and specs (as listed on Amazon) after the break:
Holy smoke, this one has a shed load of internal storage! Unfortunately this latest offering from Archos is lacking Android 2.3 and instead comes with 2.2, but I am sure that will bet sorted soon with an update.
See the full press release below:
We have know for a while that Motorola have been working on a Android tablet running Honeycomb, but what we didn’t know was when it would be officially presented to us. Motorola have released the below video which apart from being genius (so i think) confirms that they will be showing off the new device at CES in the USA early next month.
Rather than guessing at specs etc lets just be patient for a couple of weeks and get it from the horses mouth. Could this put a dampener on the Samsung Galaxy Tab?
Samsung have made MP3 players for years but at long last it looks like they may well have an alternative to the Apple iPod Touch. The Galaxy Player is believed to be unveiled at CES in the States next week and looking at its specs it would appear to be a beast!
The 9.9mm thick Galaxy Player (YP-GB1) runs on Android 2.2 Froyo OS and features a 1GHz CPU, 4-inch Super Clear LCD screen supporting up to WVGA resolution (800×480), T-DMB, SoundAlive audio enhancing technology, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 3.2MP rear camera with front facing camera for video calling, GPS, HD video playback, microSD card slot, Android Market and Samsung Apps access and a 1200mAh removable battery.
Sounds a bit of alright, but I wonder how much it will cost. I think I had better start saving.

The C3-01 is the second ‘touch and type’ device we have had from Nokia recently. The first was the X3-02 and although there are not huge differenced between the two handsets this new C3 does feel of better quality and is aimed at a slightly higher market. Running S40 the C3-01 is far from being as smart as Nokia’s Symbian S60 phones but it will give you basic Smartphone functions such as email and instant messaging.
With its traditional style keypad the Nokia C3-01 will definitely appeal to millions of users and this maybe the perfect transition between a ‘dumb phone’ and a Smartphone?
Check out the unboxing video below and see if you think this new Nokia maybe your cup of tea.
Angry Birds for iOS has received an update in the last few days bringing not only 15 new levels but also a few new features. A new golden egg is now available but more interesting is the ‘Mighty Eagle’. If you cant complete the level you can summon the Mighty Eagle to help. The downside here is that it will cost you 59 pence. I wasn’t very impressed with that but if you are desperate to kill those pigs it may solve your dilemma.
Check your updates do download these new additions.

If you saw my iPad video earlier this year where I showed how the iPad can be used as a sales tool you would have seen that I used Goodreader for viewing Word/Excel/PDF’s etc. Well now the iPhone version of GoodReader has just been updated to include the newest features added to the iPad version earlier this month. The newest version includes a new PDF displaying engine, offering a much smoother experience when zooming/panning a file, plus AirPrint support for wireless printing. GoodReader now also offers more features for annotating files, including:
· Adjustable line thickness and opacity for drawings
· Redo button in freehand drawing mode
· Freehand drawing tool now allows users to zoom and pan a page with two fingers, useful for long handwritten notes that do not fit on one screen
· Freehand drawing tool now works much faster on pages containing a large number of annotations
Head on over to the App Store from your iPhone and check it out.

Chat for Facebook Pro is a new BlackBerry app that has recently appeared in BlackBerry App World. Like the title suggests the app will allow you to use Facebook chat from your BlackBerry. This app is not the first to so this as many of the integrated instant messaging apps such as Trillian, Nimbuzz and IM+ offer the same, but where this one is quite nice is that the interface is very much like Facebook and at 79 pence it wont break the bank meaning you can always be in touch with your Facebook friends while out and about.
See some screen shots after the break:

Those nice people at the Carphone Warehouse at kindly reduced the price of the Google Nexus S sim free. Now you can pre-order the device for only £429.99, a saving of £120 compared to yesterday.
Yep, it is still expensive but now at least it is on par with other top end devices on the market.
You can pre-order by clicking here.
