LG is hitting the road with a series of shopping centre roadshows, showcasing its latest range of smartphones and offering consumers the chance to try out the innovative new technologies. The experiential roadshow will kick off in Manchester’s Trafford Centre on 12 May and will end in Bristol at the end of June.

The pop-up stand includes the latest smartphones from LG’s new top-end Optimus range, including the LG Optimus 2X, the world’s first phone with a dual-core processor and the LG Optimus Black, one of the slimmest and brightest phones on the market. The handsets are displayed on a ‘device bar’ allowing shoppers to play with the phones at their leisure with LG Crew Customers on hand to offer expert advice.

Treating shoppers to a ‘Life’s Good’ experience, visitors can connect the LG Optimus 2X to TVs to play the latest video games and there is a dedicated family area to keep the kids entertained, where they can  enter a competition to win a 42″ LG LED TV.

To coincide with the roadshow there will be LG experts in major retailers in the shopping centres, where consumers can gain further information about LG’s new smartphones and available tariff options. LG is also running an exclusive giveaway promotion whereby customers will receive a set of new LG headphones when an LG phone is purchased in any of the stores in the shopping centre.

LG Optimus 3D adds another innovative first with 3D augmented reality

LG-Optimus-3D_front-Onshot2

LG Electronics (LG), in collaboration with augmented reality (AR) pioneer Wikitude, today announced the adoption of the world’s first three dimensional AR browser on its upcoming LG Optimus 3D smartphone.

The Wikitude 3D browser allows for better interaction and engagement with real-time user environments. While 2D AR only displays overlapped objects, 3D AR shows places, landmarks and objects in 3D making them easier to distinguish. The browser al-lows users to discover details about their surroundings and access related Wikipedia articles and Twitter information.

“AR technology has been praised for its potential to replace the ‘abstract’ realities of standard mobile browsers with ‘actual’ reality streamed through the camera of the smartphone,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, CEO and President of LG Mobile Communications Company. “LG’s cutting-edge hardware and 3D API software technology now pushes this reality a step further.”

Nokia E7 Review

Nokia E7We first got hands on with the Nokia E7 last September when James visited Nokia World in London. That seemed a lifetime ago but the device is now available to buy.

With Nokia losing ground over their rivals they need to pull something out of the bag to keep their followers interested. The E7 sports a 4″ AMOLED screen with a slide out QWERTY keyboard and an 8mp camera able to record HD video. But is it enough?

Take a look below to see what this long time Nokia fan thought.
