A great guy that I met through twitter has shared his experiences using the iPhone as a productivity tool. We all know the iPhone is a fantastic device for media but can it really cut the mustard as a smartphone? Wyatt decided to test it out with a project to create a study guide to get him through his Emergency Medical Technician re-certification course without carrying anything extra to class including the EMT book for the next 6 months. The catch here was that it had to be updatable as pre-hospital procedures change during an EMTs career and easy for any other EMT to understand if read. You can read his progress to date over at his blog and it makes interesting reading. Especially when you consider the updates coming with 3.0.

Various websites are reporting that Beta testers have been told April 30th is the release date for the most anticipated Palm Pre. Check out the two news blogs that follow.
I bought this game a few days ago and was planning on writing a review but the guys over at Digmo have posted up their review and it covers everything I was going to say. Wolfenstein 3D Classic contains all six original episodes and all of your favourite memorable enemies such as Hans Grosse and MechaHitler, and comes with two new clever control systems designed for the iPhone by technical visionary and id Software founder, John Carmack.
Pop over to Digmo for the full review of my current favourite iPhone game.
Orange seem to be really on the HTC team, after the exclusive deal with the Touch HD Orange now are the first UK network to offer the Touch 3G too. We reviewed the Touch 3G a while back and found it to be an excellent phone only let down by the QVGA screen.
It is available free on many different Orange plans and you can find all the details over at the Orange site here.
Here are a couple of videos we have spotted over at pda.pl site. The guys have managed to get hold of an HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2 and given us a look around the hardware of each phone.
We believe that the HTC Diamond2 will be released sometime in April and the Touch Pro2 will follow in June and as always keep it here as we will have both devices in for a full review as soon as they are released. Until then you can see the videos after the break.
Archos, after shocking many with the announcement it will be pushing the Android platform onto its Internet Media Tablets, has given away details on when we’ll finally be able to get our hands on it.
According to recently produced financial results, the company is set to launch the telephony-enabled Android phone in Q3, which means it could very well land before the previous September release date.
It also states that it intends to continue in the MP3 player market, something which the company says is one that ‘remains important in volume’ to Archos.
Archos has pledged to keep all of its future segments (MP3 players, the recent Archos 10 netbook and the forthcoming Android phone) under €500, which means should the exchange rates settle down we could be picking up an Archos Android for less than £400.

We have seen a few alleged screenshots appear this week of Windows Mobile 7. Cast your mind back just over a year ago and we have already seen leaks of the layout of Windows Mobile 7 and not much has changed with the exception of a Marketplace application and a shot of the supposed Zune application.
The pictures after the break were posted over at Mobility Today in January 2008
Sling Media have just confirmed that they have submitted the first release of their Sling Player application to the iPhone App Store.
As ever we don’t know if it will be accepted yet or how long it will be before it appears in the App Store but this is still fantastic news.
In case you don’t know, Sling Player lets you watch and control your home TV on your mobile device when connected to a Slingbox so it is a great solution to take your viewing with you and it should look and work well with the iPhone. More information on the Sling system can be found here.

Is there no stopping the iPhone dominance. Just after the announcement of the 3.0 software which mostly stifled the Windows Mobile fans arguments that the iPhone is not a true smartphone, one of the only arguments left was the fact that Win Mo had a proper native Skype Application, Well if the rumours are true it looks like the iPhone will be ticking that box off very very soon.
According to Gigaom Skype is almost ready to launch that iPhone version, perhaps as soon as next week. CTIA Wireless, a large mobile industry trade event, kicks off in Las Vegas next Wednesday, so perhaps the announcement will be made there.
