The guys over at crowdedbrain have managed to get a preview Nokia N96 to take a look at and they have posted a couple of videos showing the device in action. Will the N96 be a good enough upgrade to the N958 GB? At this stage they say not quite. As the DVB-H service is not available in the UK till 2009/2010, by the time this comes out the next model will be released, so the only real advantage is the 16GB of storage and the various design tweaks. Videos after the break.
The Cell Phone Junkie Show #117 has just been released. The Treo Pro officially announced, Skyfire is open for download and new firmware for the iPhone is released, just some of the subjects up for discussion this week. Full show notes after the break.
Samsung Singapore just made its first ROM update for the SGH-i900 Omnia Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional smartphone available which can now be downloaded from the web.
This self-service ROM update (no more service center returns) should include new functionalities like new widgets for Samsung’s custom Today screen and a brand-new Hanyu Pinyin text input method for typing in Chinese characters as well as several bug fixes. Other changes and enhancements are unknown yet because Samsung doesn’t published a detailed change-log.
T3 has discovered a new phone called the 01 Phone and it really looks like a phone that could stick it to all the competition. Find out more after the break.

Here is the first part of Pocketnow’s video review of the HP iPaq 910. A strong device by today’s standard. Very much worth a look and I’m looking forward to further videos in this series. Check after the break for the video.
My good friend David Ciccone managed to get his hands on the Treo Pro which we discussed on the first episode of the Mobile Tech Addicts Podcast and he has posted an unboxing video showing the new Palm Treo Pro along with a good look at the outside features of this great looking handset. We are talking to Palm and are very hopeful of getting hold of one of these for ourselves to review, it looks like this will be released in the UK at the beginning of September and if it is as innovative and stable as the Treo 750V then Palm may be on to a winner. Video after the break.

Keeping an eye on Vodafones coming soon section is turning into a full time job, the latest addition is the much anticipated Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 or just the X1 as Vodafone seem to be calling it. It was only the other day that we spotted the Touch Pro’s appearance and now the X1. It is great to see Windows Mobile devices being pushed by the UK Networks. Screen shot after the break.
I’ve put together a quick video looking at some of the similar functions of these three generations of HTC phones. The HTC Tytn (Hermes, Vario II), Tytn II (Kaiser, Vario III) and Touch Pro. I wanted to show any speed differences or functionality of using them.
