According to jkOnTheRun HTC are still on course to release an Android handset in the last quarter of this year. HTC has long been rumored to be working on the HTC Dream handset and this announcement is interesting to say the least since no one can determine how far along Android has come in the development cycle. It will be cool to see an Android phone from anyone and HTC has a good shot at being one of the first if not the first so we’ll see come Q4.

Steve Trotto, via Yahoo, has hit upon the news that: Microsoft conceded Wednesday the it missed its targets for Windows Mobile, shipping 18 million copies of the cell phone operating system in its just-ended fiscal year.
For some time, executives had been saying the company would ship more than 20 million copies in the 12 months ended June 30
Andy Lees, who recently took over the mobile unit from Pieter Knook, told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer that some phone makers shipped devices later than Microsoft had expected. Lees declined to name the manufacturers in question.
There is a rather attractive looking user interface coming soon, TouchXperience looks like it simplifies the whole Windows Mobile experience with a nice amount of style. There have been a number of user interface alternatives since SPB Mobile Shell but it would be nice to have something that totally converts the micro-management of Windows Mobile to something streamlined and easier for the common user.

I have read quite a few articles over the last few weeks about the amazing new product Golden Shellback. Video of it in action after the break.

Nokia’s rather attractive slide phone has been reviewed rather favourably by the folks over at Crunchgear. In keeping with the style of the Nokia E71 the E66 looks to be a nice little phone to slip in your pocket at the weekend. Some of the specs are after the break:
Here is a look at a beautiful piece of kit. It’s easily more powerful than some folk’s home computer within the confines of a mobile device.
