Mobile operator Orange has confirmed it will start selling the high-end BlackBerry Bold this weekend, the first of its kind to offer HSDPA high-speed data access, while retailer The Carphone Warehouse also expects to have the devices in store as early as 16 August. An Orange spokesperson told Vnunet.com that the device will be in Orange channels on Saturday.
WMExperts have posted a must watch video of the Samsung i900 Omnia software in action and the more I see of this Windows Mobile device the more I like the look of it. One thing that stands out for me is the fluidity of the touch screen. It looks so easy to use and the flicks and gestures work all the time. They do mention that you have to use firm presses to get it to respond but once you are used to that it is fine. Also Opera 9.5 looks made for this large screened device. Check out the video after the break.
As much as I respect Apple, Unslow, one of their new iPhone 3G television ads, has me wondering how they kept a straight face when they put this on the air. Try to follow along with your own iPhone 3G and you will see that the advert does not bare much significance to real world results. Of course we have to bear in mind data speeds differ from place to place but it does look like Apple have somewhat misled potential iPhone 3G owners with this ad. Check out the video after the break showing the advert alongside an actual real world identical demo.
The Boy Genius has got his hands on another exclusive picture and spec on a forthcoming Motorola Windows Mobile handset. The Atila is actually the first Motorola device that will have tri-band UMTS/HSDPA. Not sure on a release date, but specs after the break.
We have just been told by Superetrader that they are expecting the Sony Ericcson Xperia X1 to be available in the UK from the 10th of October. It seems like a long time ago that this device was first announced but hopefully this is a sign that Sony Ericsson are making sure that the X1 will be a great user experience out of the box. Really looking forward to getting a look at this device with its stunning display and Windows Mobile overlays.
Palmaddict have uncovered some very interesting details on what could be the Palm Centro 2, this device does not have a keyboard and appears to be running Windows Mobile so I am not sure if these images are 100% as the Centro line has always been a Palm OS device. See the full details after the break.

Another review of the HTC Diamond, this one is definitely worth a read as it is based on the latest Rom and makes interesting reading compared with our review we did back when the device was first released. Check out msmobiles for all the details.
Alli Flowers over at Mobility Today has just posted a great review of eWallet. For anyone who has never used a security app before, you may be wondering why you would need it. You might have your wallet stolen, or lose or misplace a credit card, but you rarely do this and lose or misplace your mobile phone at the same time. Where do you currently keep all your credit card information in case your card is lost or stolen? How many people can answer that quickly, or access that information easily? If you use eWallet, it ceases to be an issue. Store all your credit card information safely and securely in eWallet. Access the information quickly and easily if you need to cancel your card or if you are doing something like making an online purchase and don’t feel like getting up to get your wallet. For the full review head over to Mobility Today.
Looks like someone has taken action against the iPhone 3G’s non-removable battery.
"A new version of its Juice Pack that slides on back and alleges an additional 6 hours of data usage attached to a 3G network. It features an on-board charge indicator in the form of four LEDs and can pass a USB connection through to the iPhone 3G within, simultaneously charging both the Juice Pack and the handset."

IBM’s Lotus Domino Web Access software, also known as IBM Lotus iNotes, will bring your Lotus e-mail, calendar and contact details to the Apple iPhone 3G. IBM says the Lotus functionality is planned for delivery to the iPhone sometime in 2008, although no official announcement has yet been made and the company is stating that Lotus iNotes on the iPhone represents “current IBM plans and directions, which are subject to change.”
