The study, conducted by the Shiraz University of Medical Sciences using 14 students, measured the amount of mercury present in their urine after use of a mobile phone. Worryingly, the study states: “The microwave radiation emitted by mobile phones has a significant impact on the release of mercury.”

Adobe Systems has begun a new, higher-power effort to spread its Flash technology to mobile devices. The company has worked for years on a lightweight incarnation of its Flash technology for mobile phones, but it now is working to bring the full-fledged Flash Player 10 to higher-end smartphones, Chief Technology Officer Kevin Lynch said at Adobe’s Max conference here. “We are midst of evolving Flash Player 10 for mobile,” Lynch said. “We’re taking the full Flash Player and making that run on the higher end of the mobile market.”
“With the growing popularity of mobile Internet and online services, and without a built-in tool for tracking data usage on Windows Mobile devices – crossing the data plan limits and receiving painful phone bills – is easy. Spb Wireless Monitor is a safeguard and can help stop the pain: it is a tool for measuring data traffic and calculating the network charges, according to set tariffs. No accelerometer on this one and a fixed focus camera only. Full review to follow after a few days use, any questions leave them in the comments and we will try and answer them.

The guys over at Pocketnow have just done a comparison test with the HTC Touch HD and SE Xperia X1 to see how each of them handles video playback using CorePlayer. The results are pretty close, but the Touch HD just edges it which was quite surprising. Added to the slightly better video quality you also have to consider the extra 0.8 inch screen size which also adds to the viewing experience. Check out Pocketnow for the full details.
We thought this was coming last week but it has finally arrived, you can now download the Google Mobile App with voice search from the app store right here. It looks great but does state that it is most suited to the North American accent and my results so far have been anything but accurate. There is a video after the break showing how it all works.
