iPhone 2.2 Software Update has just hit so you can update your iPhone now. It contains enhancements to Google Maps, Mail bug fixes and Podcasts are now available for download in iTunes. Still no copy and paste, MMS etc so still waiting for these simple things. Full details after the break.

have reported “Steve Ballmer, at the recently held developers conference at Sydney, Australia, said that Microsoft is working on a App-store like software distribution. Apple’s iPhone and App-store have really stirred the Windows Mobile Market. Though there are many ‘app-store like’ distributions, for example – Handango, they are not something that is offered directly from Microsoft. But at the same time Ballmer also mentioned there are no plans to mimic iPhone’s App-store.”
It appears that T-Mobile have been having some major network issues in London today. One of our forum members Dave Hush told us he had not had a signal on T-mobile since about 9am this morning, he had spoken to T-mobile customer services and apparently the network was down this morning for a few hours. First time we have heard of such a major outage, anybody else been affected by this.
Vodafone, the world’s largest mobile phone group by revenue, is struggling to meet demand for the new Blackberry Storm phone, its chief executive said on Thursday. Vittorio Colao told a small group of journalists after a speech at an Ofcom event that the phone was selling very well. “We might end up having a problem with giving enough Storms to as many customers who want it,” he said. “It’s going very well, we might be short of them, to be honest.”

We have received a short press release from Iconsoft telling us about their new software which we will be reviewing very shortly, basically Iconsoft Phone Extension or PhonEx is a new generation program implementing a new type of user interface for managing the main functions of the phone, built on the basis of the Iconsoft Mobile Engine. PhonEx opens up new possibilities for easy interaction using simple touch, without the stylus, while retaining all the capabilities of a Windows Mobile phone.
A new voice-recognition search tool for the iPhone has problems understanding British accents, leading to some bizarre answers to spoken queries, a newspaper report and users said Wednesday. The free application, which allows iPhone owners to use the Google search engine with their voice, mistook the word “iPhone” variously for “sex,” “Einstein” and “kitchen sink,” said the Daily Telegraph.
