Google have released elements of Android OS 2.0 Donut to the developer community, and the change list is already prompting excitement. Among the differences already noted are multitouch and gesture support, together with CDMA compatibility opening up the possibility of Android devices on US networks like Verizon and Sprint.
There’s also improved universal search, automated backups and what developers are already calling a huge amount of performance tweaking that should hopefully see the platform running more smoothly even on existing hardware. More technical issues have been tweaked, too, with WPA Enterprise encryption support together with VPN functionality.

We’ve already seen what the new BlackBerry 9550 Storm 2 looks like, and the next best thing aside from its official debut is a hands-on video of it. That’s exactly what we have for you folks right now, and from the looks of it, the BlackBerry 9550 Storm 2 is certainly more of a beauty to behold than the1G Storm. It looks sleeker, and apparently, also provides a better feel as well.
Google Maps has been updated with a new Layer feature. The new feature allows you to see multiple content at any one time. Nice addition as it can sometimes annoy when one must remove local landmarks to search for something in particular. Out now for Symbian and windows Mobile, check after the break for a rundown of the new features and some bug fixes.

Here is a 10 minute treat from teknoreview.com. The Touch Pro and Nokia N97 go head to head in a 12 round battle. Its great to see these two flip up phones together. There doesn’t seem to be too much that hasn’t already been said but it’s an enjoyable watch. Video after the break.
Browsing the price plans for the new HTC Hero I almost lost control of my bowels when I noticed the mention of a 36 month contract. That’s 3 years!
Lots of pictures, a couple of videos and a good look at the latest HTC Android phone. All looks pretty positive and the most accomplished Android device yet. Check it out here and we hope to have our own look very soon.
