You might have noticed, I certainly didn’t, that the site has been moved to another server. From here on it we should be a little speedier as the oscillating hooslebinder has been recalibrated. Hopefully no one missed out on their full of mobile tech news.

Nokia recently announced their latest entrant into the touchscreen smartphone market, the Nokia 5530. The standout feature here is the cost, for around £170 unlocked, even less on PAYG, you too can join the swishy transition party and play the phone envy game on the train.
The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, a music-focused, touchscreen phone running S60 5th Edition is available now from Carphone Warehouse, featuring a 2.9 inch (640 x 360) touchscreen, 3.2 megapixel camera, accelerometer, stereo speakers, 3.5 mm audio jack, FM radio, WiFi, Bluetooth and will include a 4 GB memory card.
Nimbuzz is a multi community mobile social messenger combining Instant Messaging, (geo) presence, and VoIP. In the days of ATMs, debit cards and cashless transactions using checks always seemed so outdated to me. With almost all banking institutions offering online billpay, I haven’t written a check in literally years. I do almost all of my banking using my banks excellent website and mobile applications, but the one thing I can’t get away from is having to stop by the bank to deposit my paycheck (my employer refuses to use direct deposit). Now a Texas bank that was created to cater to military members and their families is the first in the country to allow qualified customers to deposit checks via an iPhone application. Using the iPhone’s camera, a user takes a picture of the check and sends it to the bank where it is deposited automatically. The Check can then be voided or filed away for future reference. The bank never physically handles the check at all. This is a major step into the future of mobile banking, I think all major banks will have this capability soon, and at that point the only time you will ever have to enter a bank is to open or close an account. Say good bye to long lines at the bank, and maybe even to bank branches entirely.

As the torch passes from Chris to myself Mobiletechaddicts must disappear for a brief moment. This will likely happen tomorrow for a period of X hours and Y minutes. This will give the little people inside the website the opportunity to link the DNS to the negative power coupling of the tachyon dish. Thus the site will be relocated to a different server and everything will be better.
So please be patient and keep the faith. We’ll be back after a short break..
As the days and weeks march steadily by the amount of time for Google to get the 20 new promised Android phones onto the market is slipping away. One of the phone makers that is producing some of the Android devices is none other than Motorola.
PhoneArena have a video review of the new Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy. Most things look fairly standard but the lack of Multi-touch and flash support obviously knocks this down a peg from the HTC Hero.

O2 today announces an agreement with Telmap which will see its personal navigation and mapping service made available to O2 customers on the majority of GPS-enabled handsets sold by O2. To ensure the best possible customer experience, O2 has worked closely with Telmap to optimize the application for use on the O2 network and will be providing first level customer support and billing support.
Michael Arrington over at TECHCRUNCH has written a great article about the joys of Google Voice. A topic oft mentioned on sites in the US and is relatively unheard of here in UK/Europe. Could this be the future? Will the likes of Apple and AT&T be able to adapt to this in the future? Have a read.

Well look what finally decided to grace us with its pictorial presence: Nokia’s Rover aka N900 aka RX-51. With the T-Mobile version having just passed through the FCC, the Rover just made its first live appearance and we have to say that we really like what we see of the upcoming Maemo 5 smartphone with apart from the fact that the Z key is not offset — oh and yes, Nokia’s design team is still smoking space key crack. Just in case you don’t recall, it was way back in May when what appeared to be the entire specs for the Rover leaked out. It looks like May’s leak was pretty accurate as here’s what we have today:
