Orange are experiencing complete failure on 11 cellsites , from 5 pm yesterday. This covers the whole Edinburgh University area. Orange can’t comment on this as it contracted to a third party. Our source’s cellphone can only keep up 1 bar for GSM, no 3G, 2G, Edge and GPRS. Nasty.
I recently made a little order with Mobiles.co.uk as I was pleasantly surprised quite a few phones that are quite difficult to get a hold of on their list. For example, you can get the Touch Pro2 outside of Vodafone’s business contract and they have a clearance on the Touch HD and Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 on O2. You can pre order the Pre.
Their contract bundles do seem to be a good bit better value than the standard offerings from the Networks.
Also, I used a promotional code with my order and got a free Jabra 2010 Bluetooth Headset. If you are in the market for a new phone I suggest you look here as they have most deals from the networks plus more options and other free stuff.
Check them out.
PreCentral.net has a hands on video with then Pixi, I’ve attached both videos below. Thin, touchstone, 2mg cam, 8gb, 3.5 headphone jack, removable back covers. Looking quite a bit like a cartoon flattened Palm Treo Pro without most of the nicer lines the Pro had. It’s kind of bland and the screen looks like it could have been bigger, but obvious the gesture zone need to take up a certain amount of space. Specs and vids after the break
Palm wouldn’t be trying to steal a little thunder from Apple’s announcement today? Well here is the Palm Pixi, Nifty little device spotted on Facebook earlier today.
All the power of Palm webOS — including multitasking activity cards, Palm Synergy, intuitive notifications, and universal search — will soon be available in a striking new form factor. Palm Pixi — due on the Sprint network in time for the holidays — is Palm’s thinnest phone ever. With a visible full keyboard and rubberized back cover, Palm Pixi is especially handy for extensive messaging and social networking.
What do we have here? It looks like the Motorola MB200 and Motorola MB300 have found a home for their very own UA Profiles on the Motorola website. Along with the profiles come some specs that seem to suggest the MB200 is or might be the Morrison while the MB300 could be the Calgary or another unnamed handset. Some specs discussed include:
Motorola MB200:
- QWERTY Keyboard
- Qualcomm MSM 7200A processor (528MHz)
- 320×480 pixel touchscreen
- WCDMA connectivity
- VGA Camera
Motorola MB300:
- QWERTY Keyboard
- Qualcomm MSM 7200A processor (528MHz)
- 320×480 pixel touchscreen
- WCDMA connectivity
- 5MP VGA Camera
These two devices seem to be very similar with the latter (M300) having a better camera. If the suspense is killing you, you’ll be happy to know that Thursday will likely lift that burden. Hang in there and keep refreshing!

The Samsung Galaxy Android smartphone has been well known for a while. Today a sibling to the device called the Samsung i5700 Galaxy Lite has been spied in a retina burning green hue.
The handset has a 3.2MP camera with 1GB of internal storage compared to the normal Galaxy’s 8GB of storage and 5MP camera. The slick AMOLED screen is left and a microSD card slot is offered. The production version will apparently lack the cool green battery cover of the device pictured here.
Similar to the HTC Dream, LG’s maiden Android offering comes with a slide-out full QWERTY keypad to complement its 3-inch touchscreen display but is certainly more stylish than the former. We’re not sure what its complete specs are, but it is confirmed to feature a 5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. Based on the picture and limited information we have at the moment, it’s actually not that bad, and knowing LG, this baby will be very competitive as far as pricing goes.
So, how about you guys? How do you find the LG Etna so far?

The HTC Tattoo is the brand new Android handset from HTC. Codenamed the HTC Click, the HTC Tattoo follows hot on the heels of the HTC Hero.
With a similar form factor to the new HTC Touch2, the HTC Tattoo has all the features you would expect of an Android and HTC device.
The benefit of this over many others? It’s mass market appeal!!
Tattoo embodies three core principles of HTC Sense: Make it Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected
