Samsung Galaxy Portal unboxing video
When the Samsung Galaxy came out in August of last year I think it was the first Android powered handset that I really wanted to own. While I liked the Android OS, prior to the Galaxy I felt that other Android handsets were not particularly attractive or interesting but the Galaxy came along with its neat, think styling and OLED display, it was pretty cool!
So Samsung have launched a follow up to the Galaxy called the Galaxy Portal. Pretty similar styling to the original Galaxy, still thin and pretty stylish looking but the buttons below the display have been changed and there’s now a few more alongside them.
One thing that already bugs me about the Portal (and a few other handsets coming out at the moment) is that it still have Android 1.5 (cupcake) which feels rather dated now. Having come from the 2.1 powered HTC Legend and Nexus One those 1.5 handsets don’t have such a nice feel to them. Will the average customer care about that? Perhaps not but I suspect that it might be a little off putting for the higher-end user.
To find out what else may have changed since the original Samsung Galaxy you’ll have to wait for out full review but for now you can have a look at the unboxing video below where I’ll take you on a tour of the hardware and give you a little look around the OS too.
