Many of you will know that we were at MWC this year and invited to HTC’s press event. We were kindly allowed to record the event so here below you’ll find the full video of the event. You’ll see what we saw as the announcements unfolded one at a time including HTC Flyer, HTC Desire S, HTC Incredible S, HTC ChaCha, HTC Salsa and, not forgetting, the HTC Wildfire S
It’s a really long video, one of the longest we’ve ever uploaded to YouTube and, despite some careful editing, the run time is still over 1 hour! Transferring the video, which is in HD, has taken a while so sorry for the delay in getting this online.
Sit back and enjoy!
We first saw rumours of the possible BlackBerry Storm 3 back in December and then the leaked BlackBerry roadmap was spotted in January showing a handset codenamed Monaco that appeared to be the Storm 3.
The guys over at CrackBerry.com have managed to grab a copy of a video that apparently shows the Monaco in action.
Whether or not it will eventually carry the storm name we’re not sure but it does look like a nice step up in the touchscreen department.
Check out the video and specs below.
With MWC just coming to an end James and I were invited to a special event with Sony Ericsson last night. We had a chance to have a leisurely play with the recently announced Sony Ericsson handsets and to thoroughly test our skills on some of the new games coming to the XPERIA Play.
Below you’ll find a short demo of some of the features of Play and Arc. The XPERIA Arc really impressed me last night, I wasn’t at all as I expected. The build quality is great, feels like a premium device when in your hand and has stunning display driven by the Sony Bravia engine. What’s even more surprising is that the screen is ‘only’ an LCD but is genuinely one of the best I have seen.
Enjoy the video!
Gareth is spending his last day at MWC today and has taken a ton of photos over the course of the event. We thought we’d share some of these photos with you and below you’ll find a selection from the HTC presentation including pictures of the HTC Flyer and HTC Incredible S. We’ll have another post later on today with the other HTC handsets and further posts with photos from the other press events and of other products announced at MWC.
We’ve not done any editing but we hope you enjoy the selection.
Last year at MWC HTC announced three new handsets, the HTC Legend and HTC Desire went on to be extremely popular devices. This year though, HTC have literally doubled their efforts in announcing 6 new devices at MWC 2011.
The new products fall in to three categories:
-
-
-
Finally the
HTC Flyer, HTC’s first entry in to the Tablet market.
There will be a full press conference held at MWC at 8:45am today, these handsets were all under embargo until that time but a few naughty people have broken that embargo so it’s go, go, go!
We’ve got full details of each new products coming up in individual posts so keep your eyes peeled!

More announcements this morning from MWC, this time Huawei with news of a new handset, tablet, WiFi Dongle and USB Dongle.
The new IDEOS X3 looks to be a great little entry level handset, complete with Android Gingerbread and claiming to be the thinnest 3.2″ Smartphone.
The IDEOS S7 tablet offering 3G and WiFi capability in just a 12.5mm thick platform.
More details after the break.
Hot on the heals of the Sony Ericsson press conference at MWC 2011 we’ve just received the official press release for the new Xperia Play. Full details can be found below. As soon as we can drag Gareth away from playing with the handset in Barcelona we hope to have some footage and video.
Press release:
Our man Gareth has just arrived at the Sony Ericsson press event at MWC. Things kick off at 6pm UK time and we’ll be trying to keep things as live as possible via this post so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!
We’re not expecting too many surprises from SE this year as many of SE line up for the year have been leaked over the past few weeks. We’re expecting a look at the Xperia Play and the Arc for sure. In fact 3 have already sent out a press release this evening stating that the Xperia Play will be available on their network.
Timeline below:
The new HTC 7 Pro only surfaced a few weeks ago but it was the next logical progression for HTC and Windows Phone 7. As with many other HTC handsets that have gone before the ‘Pro’ designation signifies the sliding QWERTY keyboard and just like the HTC Touch Pro 2 the QWERTY keyboard on the HTC 7 Pro has a tilt mechanism.
HTC haven’t been too stingy on the other features either, there’s a 1GHz CPU, 576MB RAM and 512MB ROM and on top of that 8GB of internal storage. Add on the almost obligatory GPS, WiFi and 5 megapixel camera the HTC 7 Pro starts to stack up to being a great little, or not so little, handset.
As always, we’ll have a full review of the HTC 7 Pro for you once we’ve had a chance to thoroughly use the features. For now have a look at the unboxing video below which includes a few minutes looking at the OS.
There are lots of Bluetooth keyboards out there that will work with the iPhone and literally thousands of iPhone cases, however, the Boxwave Keyboard Buddy is different in that it combines the two and turns the iPhone 4 in to a sliding QWERTY-keyboarded device.
The design is pretty neat, the front portion has a clip-on case similar to many other iPhone cases but then there’s the spring loaded sliding keyboard mechanism on the back. The keyboard works over Bluetooth and has it’s own battery and power control. It also has a claimed 45 day battery life which sounds awesome.
Of course, adding a keyboard to you iPhone will add some bulk and some weight but if you really want a physical keyboard I’m sure you will be willing to make the compromise.
Check out the short video below to see the Boxwave Keyboard Buddy iPhone 4 Case close up.
