Lithium-ion Batteries
Tesla’s battery technology is based on lithium-ion batteries, which are rechargeable and widely used in portable electronics and electric vehicles. The basic structure of a lithium-ion battery consists of an anode, a cathode, and an electrolyte. During discharge, lithium ions move from the anode to the cathode through the electrolyte, producing an electric current. During charging, the process is reversed, and the lithium ions move from the cathode to the anode.
