Looking for a Sony contact!

Ok so this post is a little out of the ordinary, it’s not often that I’ll post such a blatant appeal for help but I’m looking for a Sony contact, either someone inside Sony or else someone that works for one of Sony’s PR agencies. I’m specifically interested in talking to Sony about camcorders so if anyone from Sony is out there reading this or if you know anyone that handles PR for Sony the please do get in touch with me using our feedback form. I would be extremely grateful!

Checking enters the 21st century with iPhone deposits.

usaa08

In the days of ATMs, debit cards and cashless transactions using checks always seemed so outdated to me. With almost all banking institutions offering online billpay, I haven’t written a check in literally years. I do almost all of my banking using my banks excellent website and mobile applications, but the one thing I can’t get away from is having to stop by the bank to deposit my paycheck (my employer refuses to use direct deposit). Now a Texas bank that was created to cater to military members and their families is the first in the country to allow qualified customers to deposit checks via an iPhone application. Using the iPhone’s camera, a user takes a picture of the check and sends it to the bank where it is deposited automatically. The Check can then be voided or filed away for future reference. The bank never physically handles the check at all. This is a major step into the future of mobile banking, I think all major banks will have this capability soon, and at that point the only time you will ever have to enter a bank is to open or close an account. Say good bye to long lines at the bank, and maybe even to bank branches entirely.

Planned maintenance upcoming

maintenance

As the torch passes from Chris to myself Mobiletechaddicts must disappear for a brief moment. This will likely happen tomorrow for a period of X hours and Y minutes. This will give the little people inside the website the opportunity to link the DNS to the negative power coupling of the tachyon dish. Thus the site will be relocated to a different server and everything will be better.

So please be patient and keep the faith. We’ll be back after a short break..

samsung-galaxy-i7500

PhoneArena have a video review of the new Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy. Most things look fairly standard but the lack of Multi-touch and flash support obviously knocks this down a peg from the HTC Hero.

How I Learned To Quit The iPhone And Love Google Voice

noiphone

Michael Arrington over at TECHCRUNCH has written a great article about the joys of Google Voice. A topic oft mentioned on sites in the US and is relatively unheard of here in UK/Europe. Could this be the future? Will the likes of Apple and AT&T be able to adapt to this in the future? Have a read.
