Worlds smallest USB Bluetooth Dongle

Newton Peripherals, the developer of the revolutionary MoGo Mouse™, today announced the MoGo Dapter™, a breakthrough in Bluetooth™ adapters that makes it easier than ever for millions of laptop users to use Bluetooth-enabled wireless devices.

Mogo USB Bluetooth Dongle

The MoGo Dapter is the world’s smallest Bluetooth adapter, specifically designed for “road warriors” and other mobile computer users. Newton Peripherals’ engineers designed the Dapter, miniaturizing and encapsulating the patent-pending technology so that the adapter simply plugs into any free USB port and virtually sits flush, without protruding like standard adapters. In doing so, the Dapter delivers “set it and forget it” Bluetooth functionality, eliminating the current requirement of unplugging and carrying a bulky adapter when traveling.

The MoGo Dapter will be available in the second quarter of this year from a worldwide network of authorized resellers, at an MSRP of $49.99 See the product page HERE.

MircoCircuit review

MircoCircuit is by Viex Games and is available for both Pocket PC and Palm OS. It is considered a strategy game.

MicroCircuit

The basic idea of the game to get the different coloured cars safely around the track, by switching the crossroads, and return them to their garage within the time allowed.

MircoCircuit starts of very simply with one coloured car and simple figure-of-eight track with one crossroad. By the time you get up to level 12 there are four different car colours and 11 junctions to manage! You get an average of about 5 cars coming out of each garage on each level.

The game is over when two of the cars crash into each other (cars stop at the junctions if the road is the incorrect way!) or you run out of time on a level.

I enjoyed playing this as it my kind of game, however I think a little more thought could have been put in to the levels at it is really easy to start with and gets difficult very quickly, thus for me making it quite short lived. The thing I did like about it though was you could start at any level you had unlocked so you didn’t have to keep playing the basic levels and could come straight back to the harder levels. This makes it an ideal game to have on your phone as you can just pick it and continue from the level you were stuck on and it also means that you can complete just a level at a time and not have to worry about re-doing previously completed levels.

Overall a good game but does require some thought!

Check out MicroCircuit in our Mobile Game Shop.

    Virtual Earth Mobile 1.69 released

Virtual Earth Mobile is a funny beast. Microsoft doesn’t appear to push it, support it, or beta test it. Instead one guy, Jason Fuller, takes it upon himself to not only release and occasionally update, but to provide the source Visual Studio product.

The product itself is really good, and definitely a program to show off the capabilities of your device.

    Virtual Earth Mobile Large Screenshot

Rather like Windows Live Local, VEM is a small application which allows access to the Virtual Earth servers, with mapping and decent quality aerial imagery too. The original release of the program wasn’t terrible, but suffered some annoying bugs, and in my experience struggled to maintain a connection to the servers.

The new version is very much improved. A brief overview of the updates are listed below (taken from Jason’s blog)

  • For those of you who asked to be able to drag the map with the stylus, I’ve finally gotten around to implementing it.
  • I also added the option of getting directions in text form, for those of you who prefer written directions.
  • And I fixed a bug in “Add to Contacts” that appeared because the server is no longer returning zip codes.
  • Virtual Earth Mobile 1.69 can be downloaded from the Windows Mobile Team Blog.
