HTC One just got sexier

htc-one-nexusJust as the Samsung Galaxy S4 has an exciting, new vanilla Android experience, HTC is offering the same experience for the HTC One, a phone widely regarded as the best on the market at the moment.

Removing what might be considered bloat this version of HTC One has had the pretty overlay of HTC Sense removed to make way for a pure Android experience. Recently, the same treatment had been given to the Samsung Galaxy S IV announced by Google at their Google I/O conference earlier this month. The HTC One had been rumoured as another possible experiment and it is only today that it has been confirmed as true, love it ?  check these products to make your testosterone run.

Some will not understand the reasons for getting rid of the pretty interface on top of Android however anyone who has been using a Nexus device over the past few years will understand the benefits of the no-frills approach. Allowing developers more freedom, a fresh canvas for customisation and reported improvements to device stability and speed.

You can find out more over at the HTC Blog and check out Matt’s review the device here. It will be interesting to see if this becomes standard play for devices and how well they sell.

HTC 8S Review

HTC 8S Review The smartphone marketplace is crowded to say the least, but when Microsoft launched Windows Phone 8 it brought about something different than the rivals already had (iOS, android and blackberry) and although Microsoft partnered with Nokia to create smartphones and exclusive applications for Nokia phones, they decided in their wisdom to make HTC their official brand/launch partner.

And I have one of the devices in question for review, the Windows Phone HTC 8S which is the lower end device that HTC launched alongside its windows phone flagship the 8X.

Want to find out more about this little device and whether it can compete successfully in the marketplace? Well then please do read on, but first please take a look at the HTC 8S unboxing video from Matt.

HTC One SV review

HTC One SV review HTC are continuing the use of their ‘One’ brand with the HTC One SV, following in the footsteps of the older One X, S, and V.

This latest model brings with it 4G connectivity and NFC but in every other respect seems to be pretty much a middle-of-the-road handset with specs that hardly wow it goes up against cheaper 4G capable rivals from Huawei that are otherwise similar in spec but significantly cheaper in price. Can the One SV compete?

It has been quite a while since I have been in the review seat and HTC have made some changes with HTC Sense 4.1 and several other tweaks to their long standing lineup of bundles apps.

I’ve had the HTC One SV with me for a few weeks now and have been using it as a backup phone. So, read one to find out more about it and what I think of it as a daily phone.

HTC Windows Phone 8S unboxing video

HTC Windows Phone 8S It’s been a while since I last did an unboxing video so I was pretty pleased to get hold of HTC’s latest phone, the HTC Windows Phone 8S.

While the name may be a bit of a mouthful the phone itself isn’t too much of a handful with a 4″ display and carefully curved back in a textured finish this is a phone that’s easy and comfortable to hold.

HTC have made this one available in a variety of colours and this red one that we are looking at looks quite smart and stands out from the crowd. It’s quite festive too!

The 8S is the first Windows Phone 8 phone that I’ve had the chance to use in earnest so I’m looking forward to the next few weeks of testing. Initial impressions are that it runs really smoothly and rapid at most tasks despite the processor clock speed seemingly a little slow, on paper at least.

Check out the video below which covers the basics of the hardware before delving in and reviewing some of the OS and UI features.

HTC Desire C Review

creditHTC Desire C ReviewIn the not too distant past the ‘Desire’ range of smartphones from HTC were their flagship range, this was until MWC 2012 when HTC announced the excellent ‘One Series’. At that point I didn’t think that we would see a Desire branded handset from HTC again, but to my utter surprise here I have the brand new Desire C for review.

It’s the beginning of a new range of devices from HTC aimed at giving absolutely everyone a chance to own an Android smartphone on any budget.

So how does this little device fair against its competitors? And does it do the Desire brand name the justice it no doubt deserves?

Well to find out you will have to read on.

HTC Sensation XE review (Running Android 4.0)

HTC Sensation XELast year HTC experienced a massive loss in the smartphone market due to poor sales and a lack of brand awareness. This was in part due to the massive success of the Samsung Galaxy S2 which pretty stormed the Android market for 2012. However, one phone that I believe really went under the radar was the HTC Sensation which boasted very similar specs to the Samsung Galaxy S2 and had a more sturdy design, but yet didn’t sell as HTC would have liked. HTC then brought out the XE and XL versions, both with Beats and both with beautiful form factors.

Today I’m going to review the HTC Sensation XE after it’s Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade and show you a phone that was massively underrated last year.

HTC One X: Extended hands-on video and review

HTC One X_rgb_thumbAnnounced at Mobile World Congress in February the HTC One X is the companies latest flagship Android device and what a beauty it is. Sporting a 4.7 inch HD 720p touch screen, 1.5 GHz, quad-core processor and running Android 4.0, HTC can be proud of their latest creation.

With these top end specs the handset is complemented with some great software and superb camera hardware including Sense 4.0, NFC, Beats Audio, 8 megapixel camera with auto focus and full 1080p HD video recording.

Due to us initially having the device for less time than we normally do I have decided to do a video review instead of a written one. I am sure I will have missed a few things out in the video but if you are looking to pick up the One X this should give you a pretty good insight to most of its features.

So click the ‘read more’ below to see the device put through its paces and my final conclusion.

HTC Explorer Review

HTC Explorer ReviewIn 2011 HTC became an even bigger player in the Smartphone market, possibly due to them releasing phones at a fair rate of knots! Here I have one of their lower end devices with a very nice low price tag attached to it, the HTC Explorer. One of this handsets main selling points is without question its low price tag as it is way below the 150 mark on both pay as you go and SIM free.

The question though is does this device have any more selling points, or is it just another cheap phone for the kids?

To find out you will have to read on.

HTC Titan Review

HTC Titan ReviewThe Titan is one half of the newest phones released by HTC with the latest version of Windows Phone 7 but this is the most interesting device. Mainly because of the gargantuan 4.7 inch screen, a fast 1.5 GHz processor and Windows Phone 7.5. There is no doubt that it certainly impressive on paper but how does it perform in real life? Has HTC been too ambitious with the screen size? Should you choose the Titan over anything else? Read on to find out!
