Sony Ericsson press event at MWC

Our man Gareth has just arrived at the Sony Ericsson press event at MWC. Things kick off at 6pm UK time and we’ll be trying to keep things as live as possible via this post so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!

We’re not expecting too many surprises from SE this year as many of SE line up for the year have been leaked over the past few weeks. We’re expecting a look at the Xperia Play and the Arc for sure. In fact 3 have already sent out a press release this evening stating that the Xperia Play will be available on their network.

Timeline below:

18:00 – With the presentation about to kick off the 3G and WiFi grinds to a halt, how predictable! Host Steve Walker making the introductions. President and CEO Bert Nordberg on stage; The Xperia X10 is less than a year old (announced at MWC last year) and already there are over 10 million Xperia phones.

18:06 – Info on screen about the Xperia Arc (no surprise) 4.2″ reality display, Gingerbread, Mobile Bravia Engine. Starts shipping in March.

18:07 – Video of the Xperia Neo: HD video, HDMI, Bravia Engine, Exmor R for mobile, 8 megapixel camera

18:11 – Great demo videos of upcoming 3D games.

18:12 – Xperia Pro, sliding QWERTY version available soon too

18:20 – It’s time for the Xperia Play! “Legendary Original Playstation Content. We get to see the Play in action, showing off a couple of games.

18:25 – The Xperia Play supports multiplayer gaming with own Hotspot modes. Around 50 titles available from launch.

18:35 – Will be on Verizon in the US and 3 here in the UK in March.
