On 8th March, Three will launch a new range of price plans that bring an end to out-of-bundle data charges for all new smartphone contract customers.

New customers will be able to choose a plan with Three’s ground-breaking all-you-can-eat data offering, or a 250MB allowance with a guarantee of no out of bundle data charges; giving them a fear-free mobile internet experience. They can then choose from a simple range of minute options to create the best value plan for their needs.

The new plans have been driven by the massive increase in mobile data usage over the last 18 months, and insight from customers that they want to keep better control of their costs. They ensure that smartphone customers can enjoy all the benefits of internet on the move, without fear of data bill shock.

For customers wanting plenty of everything, The One Plan – the original all-you-can-eat data plan – continues to offer all-you-can-eat data and more than enough minutes and texts. Alongside it, Three now introduces two new tariff families, with data firmly at their heart.

The new Ultimate Internet plans start from just £18, offering all-you-can-eat data for customers who want to fully embrace mobile internet without feeling restricted or worrying about the cost. While for those more occasional users wanting to discover the mobile internet, the Essential Internet plans include a 250MB allowance with absolutely zero chance of out-of-bundle data charges.

Essential Internet customers who decide they want more data during the month can either buy a 250MB add-on for £2 or an all-you-can-eat add-on for £5, each of which lasts for 30 days. Customers receive text alerts if they reach their data limits ensuring that they are always in complete control. Additionally they can change to an Ultimate Internet plan at any point, making their contract totally future-proofed as their usage changes over time.

Thomas Malleschitz, Marketing Director at Three says: ‘These new plans see the end of out-of-bundle data charges. Three is built for the mobile internet, it’s at the heart of everything we do and that’s reflected in these new plans. Mobile internet usage is continuing to increase at lightning speed, customers are beginning to prioritise data and they rightfully expect their network to allow them to do so without hitting them with extra charges.”

“We’re responding to this hunger for data and desire for control by creating a set of price plans that allow our customers to get the very best out of their smartphone, giving them the freedom to download their favourite music and apps, browse the internet and stay connected without having to worry about high bills.”

Three has offered truly unlimited all-you-can-eat data on The One Plan since December 2010. All-you-can-eat data has also been rolled-out on PAYG from as little as £15, to one month rolling SIM-only packages, and then from October 2011 offered as an add-on to all contract customers giving them all-you-can-eat data for as little as £18 per month.
