HTC One just got sexier

htc-one-nexusJust as the Samsung Galaxy S4 has an exciting, new vanilla Android experience, HTC is offering the same experience for the HTC One, a phone widely regarded as the best on the market at the moment.

Removing what might be considered bloat this version of HTC One has had the pretty overlay of HTC Sense removed to make way for a pure Android experience. Recently, the same treatment had been given to the Samsung Galaxy S IV announced by Google at their Google I/O conference earlier this month. The HTC One had been rumoured as another possible experiment and it is only today that it has been confirmed as true.

Some will not understand the reasons for getting rid of the pretty interface on top of Android however anyone who has been using a Nexus device over the past few years will understand the benefits of the no-frills approach. Allowing developers more freedom, a fresh canvas for customisation and reported improvements to device stability and speed.

You can find out more over at the HTC Blog and check out Matt’s review the device here. It will be interesting to see if this becomes standard play for devices and how well they sell.
