Another new HTC device, this time with WiMax

image Leaked photos from nedge2k.com have revealed a new HTC T8290, with its front looking like the HTC Touch Diamond but it has a much bigger touch screen. The HTC T8290 is said to be a GSM + WiMax device, with a 3.8-inch display and an impressive 800 x 480 WVGA HD matching resolution, built in WiFi and Bluetooth. The back of the T8290 is showing a Yota logo, which is a Russia WiMaX network provider. This may explain why HTC are not planning on bringing the Touch HD to the US. Pictures and specs after the break.

Unfortunately there are no really good graphics for it yet but if you have ever seen an ASUS PC Monitor then it looks very similar to that.

    HTC T8290 Rumoured

Paul over at MoDaCo has just posted an article on the new HTC T8290

    HTC T8290 HTC T8290 HTC T8290

    HTC T8290 HTC T8290

My my, HTC do have their fingers in a lot of pies wink.gif
Below are the first images of a device that appears to be called the ‘T8290’ and is packing WiMAX, destined for the Russian Yota WiMAX network.
We can see the device features:
    – WinMo 6.1 Professional
    – 3.8" WVGA (800×480) screen
    – Inbuilt phone, WiMAX, Bluetooth and WiFi
Amazingly the design seems to be even more minimalist that the Touch HD! smile.gif No deets on whether this packs the same 5 Megapixel camera of course, but there is a camera of some description on there. We’ll be digging around for more info and will update this post as and when – watch this space! smile.gif
Given HTC’s recent announcement that the Touch HD will not be available stateside, could this give a hint as to why? Will we see the T8290 coming to Sprint’s ‘Xohm‘ network?

Now I’m really not sure what this means but it does indeed look like an HTC device that has not been photo shopped. It always amazes me how these devices leek so commonly but I for one am glad they do and only wish that someone would leak something new to us more often.
