zunephone1-169x300 It seems that the Zune phone concept will only remain a concept, and the Zune Mobile title actually refers to a Zune-centric software package designed for Windows Mobile. This much we know based on the latest reports that are coming out on the internet, but as to what it will specifically do and contain is still anybody’s guess. Contrary to previous belief, Pink is actually a codename for a set of consumer-focused premium services being developed for Windows Mobile which Zune Mobile is a part of. Palm have called on PocketGear, an app distributor which has rounded up around 50,000 smartphone applications since launching in June of 2008, to power the boutique. It’s a bit strange to see a handset manufacturer so openly sharing their application store’s spotlight with a third party, but it ensures that Palm’s got a full catalog on day one. At launch, over 1,500 developers have already submitted their virtual goods to the Software Store. You can download either version from this link.
