When we were recording the Mobility Today podcast earlier this week there were a few requests in the chatroom to see a 3G video call using the HTC Diamond. Well I managed to persuade my colleague Lee to help me out and we did a short demonstration of the technology in action. After the break you can see the video and quality of the technology in action.
The two phones used in the demo were the HTC Diamond at my end of the call and a Nokia N95 8 Gig at Lees end, it was also a cross network call with my phone on Vodafone and Lee’s on O2, both with a two bar HSDPA signal. The phone call worked very well and there was no significant delay in voice, both phones automatically switched to speaker phone when answering the video call.
