CoPilot Live Premium for Android gets an update

61259_O2_B

CoPilot for Android has had an update today bringing a variety of improvements and enhancements based on customer feedback.
Here’s what’s new:

  • Favourites improved. Now you can easily give any favourite a name using an on-screen pop-up. Favourites are also now listed in alphabetical order and you can create a new favourite from My Places.
  • Better routing. We’ve added a new ‘list view’ in alternate routes so you can check out the detailed itinerary before making a choice. We’ve also made some additional tweaks to the way that alternate routes are calculated – based on customer feedback.
  • Improvements to parking. We’ve changed the UI for this – and watch this space, because there’s more to come in our next update.
  • Improvements to Wikipedia and Bing Searches. Searches are now faster and you can choose a search location.
  • Clearer directions. We’ve increased the font size for road names in 3D view.
  • Speed limit displayed when no destination entered. We have some further improvements for driving without a destination coming soon too.
  • Save Current Location. Back by popular demand. Although you can save any location as a favourite by tapping on-screen, you can also now save current location from the More menu
  • Improvements to Android tablet screen resolution detection

The update is available now from the Android Market

HTC Sensation XL to be announced

htc-sensation-xl-htc-runnymede-0

Listen up Android fans. You thought the Sensation was a beast. Well imagine an Android phone based on the HTC Titan. That is what HTC will announce this week according to our tipster.

Like the Sensation XE, the XL will be pumping Beats Audio so expect those super headphones in the box. A few other sites have reported similar things over the past couple of weeks and indeed listed specs. Now, I cant confirm the specs so I am not going to list them but if we are going to get a 4.7 inch Android device I think it is pretty fair to say we would get a 1.5Ghz processor at least.

With the next iPhone being announced later today at least you Android fans now have something to look forward to in the coming weeks. The HTC Sensation XL sounds wonderful. Lets see if our reliable source is as reliable as we think.

Motorola Defy+ Unboxing Video

defy _gray_front_home1_emea

We posted the other day that the Motorola Defy+ is now on sale and the chaps at Clove have been kind enough to send one over for review.

I reviewed the original Defy and the main selling points for me were it being shock, water, dust and scratch resistant. This new version of the Defy does most of those however it seems to have lost the shock resistance which is a real shame.

That said, it has had an upgrade to its processor, now at 1Ghz which will please buyers. Running Android 2.3 the Motorola Defy+ comes with a reasonable price tag of only £246.00 including VAT sim free.

We will of course have a full review of the device online in the near future but in the meantime you can see the unboxing video below:

Apple iPhone event tomorrow

apple-logo

We are now only one day away from Apples press event they are holding at their headquarters in Cupertino. The rumor squad has been working overtime over the past few months and as you may have noticed we have not paid it a lot of attention. Why, you may ask? Well, many sites have been reporting every rumor they can get their hands on and frankly most of it is a total waste of time as it is all rumor.

Sure, we may well get an iPhone 5 or an iPhone 4S or even something totally different but until tomorrow we will not know for sure.

Apple have once again done a sterling job at preventing leaks so the event tomorrow will have the worlds press and public reeled in waiting for the important announcement.

We will of course bring you the news as soon as we have it but in the meantime you will just have to be patient. Not long to wait.

Nokia maps spotted in the Marketplace

nokiamaps-marketplace

Someone at XDA seems to have spotted some screenshots of Nokia Maps for Windows Phone 7 over in the Marketplace. This is great news as Navigation apps here in the UK on the platform are lacking. The screenshot shown clearly shows a map of Central London.

With Nokia lagging behind on the the release of mango phones, compared to the likes of HTC and Samsung, could Nokia Maps be the unique selling tool they have up their sleeves?

If I was going to buy a Windows Phone I would more than likely get a Nokia if It came with free satellite navigation.

Hands up who agrees with me?

Fabled Touchpad Go details emerge

touchpad-go-specsHard to believe that a mere two months ago there was a fire sale on the HP Touchpad. A shrewd manoeuvre by HP to get Touchpads into the hands of plenty around the world to play with and develop. Now it seems the legacy of the Touchpad was to be grander and more ambitious than previously  thought. PreCentral.net just posted exclusive details on the HP TouchPad Go 7 inch version of the TouchPad that was killed before it was released.

After looking at the images, slides, and details, I think I actually may have liked the TouchPad Go since the smaller form factor is appealing for mobile usage, the design looks nicer with a soft touch back, metal buttons, and a higher pixel density display. All the basic elements of the TouchPad are packed into the Go along with a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor and GPS receiver. I haven’t seen any of these sneak out on ebay or Craigslist and maybe with the new change at HP there is a chance we may eventually see these released.

Would you have purchased the HP TouchPad Go? Do you find it more appealing than the HP TouchPad?
