Tytn II Orange 6.1 update is here

orange_tytnii_update_thumbTracy and Matt have managed to get the Orange upgrade working for the Tytn II. This taking the phone up to Windows Mobile 6.1 brings a host of updates to the flaky and buggy 6.0 variant. The update is very much worth it and I am very interested to see what Orange have packaged with it.

Update: Just to update you on this, I have been using it for the last 24 hours and I have to say it is a big improvement.

Over the last few months I had moved away from the slow 6.0 ROM to some of the cooked ROMs on XDA hoping to find something with a little more functionality. Each ROM I tried was good in it’s own right but after a while I’d find various problems. Some had glitches in the keyboard, touch screen delays and even PIE just not working.
This ROM upgrade is the real deal. It’s just works. I’ve tested it with everything I have seen unfortunately go wrong with the XDA community cooks and I’m very pleased with it. There isn’t a whole lot of Orange branding, most of it can be removed, ignored or turned off. I’d recommend this to anyone with a Tytn II on Orange.
