EASY TO USE INTERNATIONAL RESCUE NOW AVAILABLE ON THE BLACKBERRY

Now Blackberry users have easier access to the first ever international mobile phone travel emergency and concierge service.

With enhanced software Trafficmaster’s International Rescue is now easier to download to your GPS enabled Blackberry. The service provides round the clock personal travel assistants located in the UK and in over 40 countries, who are on hand to help you when you are trouble.

Nearly 36 million Brits are expected to travel abroad this year*, with estimates that one in ten will need medical support or will be involved in an accident. With such an alarming rate of calamities, the introduction of the easier to use International Rescue on the Blackberry comes at the right time when people are planning to book their annual holiday.

At the press of the International Rescue icon travellers are connected to Trafficmaster personal assistants (PAs) in the UK. The PAs have exclusive access to in-country local teams and can provide a liaison between you, British embassies, the police, border controls and emergency services such as ambulance, fire, mountain rescue and coast guard. What’s more they provide concierge services so they can help you find a restaurant, hotel or your nearest chemist or cash machine.

Tony Eales, Chief Executive of Trafficmaster, says: “The improved International Rescue Service means that travellers can quickly subscribe to the service and ensure they have peace of mind before they venture on their journey. The travel industry predicts that there will be an increase on people going abroad on holiday this year, and International Rescue will be a valuable service for all travellers, whether you are a business man, a family on holiday or a student on a gap year.”

To provide a comprehensive emergency service International Rescue confidentially stores all your personal information such as next of kin, passport number, blood group, allergies, current medication and insurance details. This information is only used when an emergency arises.

To download the International Rescue application to your Blackberry simply search for Trafficmaster Companion on the App World site, which is found on the Blackberry home page on your handset browser. The service costs £21.35 a month or £63.95 for an annual subscription. Calls to the travel experts from your mobile are charged at a normal UK landline rate.

International Rescue is part of the Trafficmaster Companion suite of travel services, which includes UK based satellite navigation, live traffic information and 24 hour personal assistants.

While this software is not going to be of interest to everyone it will certainly be handy for regular overseas travellers. I’m actually off to Spain next week and will have Trafficmaster International Rescue on my BlackBerry just in case. Hopefully I wont have to use it but im happy to have piece of mind. Thunderbirds are go!
