3 pre-pay database server falls over

image Engineers at 3 are busy rebuilding the firm’s pay-as-you-go top-up database after the server carrying it fell over on Sunday.

Customers were left unable to add new credit for several hours, either over the phone, online or in 3 stores. A 3 spokesman said today that it took action to ensure that pay-as-you-go users were able to make calls if they had run out.

Whats is the HTC Diamond’s screen like in the sun?

Dave Ciccone has tested the view ability of the screen in direct sunlight and found the results to be very suprising compared with other Windows Mobile phones where you cannot read the screens at all. Third-party iPhone applications to arrive Monday

image The era of officially sanctioned iPhone applications should kick off on Monday according to Cnet.

That’s the same day Apple CEO Steve Jobs is expected to take the stage at the Moscone Center to unveil the next-generation iPhone at the company’s annual Worldwide Developers’ Conference. A source at a software company that has been working on a native iPhone application tells us the company is getting ready to launch that application on Monday, which could also imply that Apple’s App Store will be up and running that day.

Mobility Today first review ever of the HTC Diamond retail version.

Over the next 2 weeks Mobility Today will be reviewing the HTC Touch Diamond and answering all of your questions you might have on this device. The unit they will be reviewing is a final production European release Diamond and it’s the first time anyone has managed to get hold of a unit that’s a released retail version. 3G iPhone 22% thinner, better battery life

image Wired’s Leander Kahney, arguably the most credible yet of those who’ve weighed in with alleged specs of Apple’s upcoming 3G iPhone, is reporting the handset will be 22 percent thinner than its predecessor, not thicker as some earlier reports had suggested.

O2 Fires Staff After iPhone Discount Scam

image Staff at branches of mobile phone retailer O2 have been sacked after using discounts to buy cheap Apple iPhones and then selling them on via the internet.

About half a dozen employees were dismissed from London stores after being caught scooping up job lots of the sought-after handsets.
