This week Gareth, Matt, James and Andy are joined seasoned veteran Mickey Papillon, The Cellphone Junkie himself, for a chat about all the latest news. Discussion includes The Vivaz, HTC’s line up, Malware on Vodafone devices and the iPad.
Previously available as website followformation.com, now it’s available as an iPhone app that is not free however ($1.99) and it has been released merely 2 days ago:
I’ve been hinting that we’d have a new competition for a few weeks and I am pleased to say that the time has come!
Thanks to our friends at Sony Ericsson we have an Xperia X2 to give away. James picked up the X2 at MWC last month and Sony Ericsson are letting us use it as a competition prize.
If you’ve been following the progress of the X2 you’ll no doubt be aware that SE have decided not to make the Xperia X2 available in the UK, indeed it’s only going to be available to buy in a limited number of countries so entering this competition may in fact be one of the only ways of having a chance of getting your hands on the X2!
So have a look at the details on how to enter after the jump…
I just popped over to the coming soon pages on the Vodafone site and they have some seriously cool devices heading their way.
I posted earlier that the Sony Ericsson Vivaz is now available and this will be followed shortly by the Xperia X10 which looks set to be very popular with its Android OS and 8mp camera.
Vodafone are also to have the HTC Legend, HTC Desire and Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and, later on, they will also have the Nexus One. Interesting that they will carry the Desire and the Nexus One as they are so very similar.
You’ll find full details and the official press release after the jump. There is one thing that we will want to check out is the Vodafone version of the HTC Legend as Vodafone will be adding Vodafone 360 to it and that can be very much a love/hate thing!
There is a new wave of Sony Ericsson handsets coming over the next month or two and the first one, the Vivaz is now available on Vodafone.
The device is free on contracts starting at £30 per month and I think this device will appeal to not only Symbian users, but everyone. Sony Ericsson have put a nice overlay on top of the traditional Symbian one so its almost like not using a Symbian handset.
Sporting HD video recording and a 8.1 MP camera the Vivaz is certain to get a decent number of sales. Lets just hope Sony Ericsson have less issues with this device than they had with the last one, the Satio.
Matt unboxed the Vivaz last week and I now have the device so keep you eyes peeled this week for the full review.
HTC have confirmed that the HTC Tattoo will be getting the upgrade to Android 2.1, Eclair.
No date has been announced yet as HTC are still in the process of porting Sense UI to the version.
So if you have a HTC tattoo sim free then be patient, the update is coming.
Here in the UK, if you have the Orange branded version I’m afraid it could be a much longer waiting game. I will pop an email over to Orange but I would imagine an update, if any, could be some way off.
