Windows Mobile Marketplace will be open to 6.0 and 6.1 devices

Msmobiles are reporting that the Windows Mobile App Store or Marketplace which will be launched with Windows Mobile 6.5, will be available for older 6.0 and 6.1 software devices. This would makes sense as the number of devices that will have 6.5 are limited and this would not be a good marketing opportunity for developers.

Todd Brix – new manager of Windows Marketplace has said Windows Marketplace will be available for Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1 by the end of 2009 (in addition to Windows Mobile 6.5 at launch in the fall).
