When is iPad coming to Europe? Where to get microSIM from?

Americans will be getting iPads via UPS on Saturday and also in several retail outlets some iPads will be available. Generally iPad is sold out in USA and if you would like to order one now, you would have to wait 2-4 weeks.

But what about Europe?

Apparently Andrea Jung (???), a Chinese-Canadian born in Canada and a reputable businesswoman who is on board of directors of Apple, has mentioned to CNN that iPad is coming to Canada and Russia on Aprial 24, 2010 and to West Europe it is coming one week later. It is not an official release date but at least it’s something.

Note that no operators and service providers in Europe are offering microSIM yet, but super-cheap cellphone service provider Simyo that operators on top of network of Eplus operator, already started gathering orders for microSIM as you can see here (in German). We expect that more service providers and operators will be joining soon, but we wouldn’t recommend using scissors to make your own microSIM by cutting it out – out of regular one.

The rumored pricing of iPad in Europe is much higher than in USA because Apple is not using regular conversation rates. In other words if you are in Europe don’t use usual conversation rate to estimate iPad price in Europe…
