OQO Model 2 unboxed

A few months ago I carried out a group test of a few UMPC devices including the OQO model 01+. I was impressed with the model 01 and it came out our group test winner. I was pleased to finally get my hands on the OQO Model 2 which is a vastly improved model.

As always, we are starting off with a video unbox of the machine.

I’ll be following up with our review of the OQO Model 2 once I have had more time to use it, but so far I really like it!

O2 Cocoon unboxed

I few days ago the nice people over at O2 sent us one of their new signature phones to play with. This is the O2 Cocoon.

It may well look like a stormtroopers mobile phone but the O2 Cocoon is actually a well featured mobile. Designed as a life-style device is boasts a large 2Gb of internal storage and has an RDS enabled FM radio. The other cool feature is the external LED display that actually shines through the white case to provide you with information such as the time, name/number of a caller or the track title for the MP3 you are listening to.

TomTom GO 720 unboxed

A while ago we reviewed the Acer P630 Sat Nav device and we were pretty impressed with it. However, since then TomTom have released a number of new standalone devices the latest of which is the TomTom G0 720.

The TomTom GO 720 is a widescreen form factor device designed for in-car navigation and includes a couple of neat features. First of all you can use it with your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone as a hands-free car kit. Secondly the unit has a built in FM transmitter allowing you to hear the navigation prompts while also giving you the ability to listen to MP3’s that you might have stored on the generous 2GB’s of internal storage.

Sony Ericsson P1i unboxed

W’ve just got our hands on the new Sony Ericsson P1i and we’re going to be put together a real world review of the device. But first we have our regular unbox/compare video for you.

I’ve only been playing with the device for a short time but have to say that I quite like it. However, the Symbian OS takes some getting used to after years of Windows Mobile and Smartphone use!

Nokia E90 Communicator unboxed

The Nokia E90 Communicator has just been released here in the UK and we’ve managed to get our hands on one for review. As always we’re starting off with an unbox and compare video but we are going to be using the device in a business environment for a few weeks in order to write our review.

The Nokia E90 Communicator sets a new standard for productivity whilst away from the office. With features ranging from a 3.2 megapixel camera to HSDPA, the Nokia E90 is the must have device from the world famous Nokia.

UBiQUiO 101 Skype Phone unboxed

Following on from our recent videos of the Netgear SPH101 and Netgear SPH200D Skype phones, we have another one to show you. This time we are looking at the UBiQUiO 101 Cordless Home & Skype Phone. This one is different in that you need a PC with USB in order to use Skype but it still includes cordless ‘landline’ coverage.

Although both of the Netgear Shype phones are excellent they both set you back over £100. If you want a basic Skype phone with PSTN functionality but want to spend considerably less than £100 then take a look at the UBiQUiO 101 you can pick one up for under £40!! We’ll bring you more of a review shortly!

HP iPAQ 514 unboxed

If you are looking for a light-weight, candy-bar style Windows Mobile 6 Smartphone then the HP iPAQ 514 could be the phone for you!

The iPAQ 514 is a basic phone but has a number of features that you might expect to find on a higher-end device such as the inclusion of WiFi. We are going to be using this device in the ‘real world’ over the next week or so and will be posting a review shortly.

Toshiba Portégé G900 display video

Here, as promised, is the video of the Toshiba G900 display. It’s brief but should give you an idea of the resolution of this device. I’m very impressed with the screen so far. Browsing the internet at 800×480 is a pleasure!
