London, 5th May 2010 – BMX enthusiasts from across the globe descended upon Liverpool’s Rampworks this weekend, to kick off the inaugural Sony Ericsson Ride to Glory 2010.

To celebrate Sony Ericsson’s first year as headline sponsor the entrants will be pushed to the limit and have their riding skills tested to the max with a series of new routes, daring stunts and high octaine thrills, culminating in a finale at Cantelowes outdoor skate park in Camden, London on the 8th May.

During this seven-day endurance challenge, thrill-seeking contenders will capture the action live in HD on the feature-packed Sony Ericsson VivazT, and this ground breaking footage will be uploaded daily to the Ride to Glory website – http://rideukbmx.mpora.com/

"I’ve competed for the last three years and this time I’m hoping to push myself even further.’" says Matt Priest, entrant in the Sony Ericsson Ride to Glory 2010. "There are some tough challenges in store but I can’t wait to film some clips using the Sony Ericsson VivazT. Uploading this content instantly in HD will ensure thousands of fans can see our team in amazing quality at each stage of our journey."

David Hilton, Marketing Director Sony Ericsson UK and Ireland continued; “Sony Ericsson Ride to Glory 2010 is a strong extension to our existing sponsorship portfolio and we’re really excited to be working with BMX. The riders are highly skilled and will be filming their fast paced stunts throughout their journey in HD using the Sony Ericsson VivazT”

Working alongside BMX, Sony Ericsson will use its core retained agencies, Brando, Iris and Mediaedge:cia to create and implement its ATL and BTL campaign. Pre-publicity will feature on affiliate sites, along with endorsement and advocacy within riders’ social media contact points.

Further to this, media and blogger competitions will be placed in relevant outlets to give consumers the chance to win tickets to the Sony Ericsson Ride to Glory 2010 after party and a Sony Ericsson VivazT. Profile opportunities with key BMX influencers will also be placed within lifestyle titles to reach new audience groups within this exciting sport.

This is a great idea for testing out the video camera on the Sony Ericsson Vivaz. Why didnt I think of this when I did the review!
