HTC Desire Z review

DesireZ-main The HTC Desire Z is the handset that I’ve been most looking forward to reviewing since it was announced along with the HTC Desire HD just a short while ago.

I do like devices with hardware keyboards even since the first HTC Blue Angel that I had all those years ago to the HTC TyTY, TyTN II and then Touch Pro I have rarely been with out a device with a QWERTY keyboard. For a while there seems to have been a bit of a gap in devices with a decent QWERTY keyboard and Android powered handsets with QWERTY have been quite few. Sure there have been a couple from Motorola but I was personally unimpressed with quality of them.

So now we have the latest HTC Deisre Z to look at. Running Android 2.2 and with the newest implementation of HTC Sense it promises deliver an unrivalled user experience. The operating system is virtually the same as the HTC Desire HD that James reviewed a few days ago so I’ll be concentrating on the hardware in this one.

Read on for the full review.

BlackBerry Bold 9780 Review

BlackBerry Bold 9780 reviewAvailable in both black and white the BlackBerry Bold 9780 is the follow on from the popular 9700 although if you saw my unboxing video you will know that there is not too many things that have changed regarding hardware. A better camera and more memory always help but it is the operating system that excites me most. The BlackBerry Bold 9780 is the first non touch BlackBerry to launch here in the UK with BlackBerry 6.

Sure, I have used it on the Torch but the Bold 9780 will outsell the Torch (so I think) and as far as I am concerned this will be RIMs number one business device for the near future.

Is it worth upgrading or going an buying now? You will have to read on for my opinions.

HTC Desire HD Review

HTC Desire HD ReviewThe HTC Desire HD is possibly the biggest and best Android Smartphone we have seen to date here in the UK. Some will say that the Samsung Galaxy is better. The Galaxy may have a nicer screen but the difference in build quality between the two devices is like chalk and cheese. The desire HD oozes solidness unlike its rival.

With an 4.3 inch screen the Desire HD is the natural progression on from the HD2 which ran Windows Mobile. We also have the HTC HD7 out now running Windows Phone 7 but with its lack of customisation I think the Desire HD could be number one.

As we have been swamped by Android devices in the last 18 months I will try to focus on the unique and best features of the Desire HD. Frankly, doing the same screen shots on every new Android phone is getting on my nerves. However we are about to endeavor exactly the same issue with WP7. I need a holiday!

Sony Ericsson VH410 Bluetooth Headset Review

Sony Ericsson VH410The Vodafone VH410 Bluetooth headset is manufactured by Sony Ericsson although branded as Vodafone. Part of Sony Ericssons Green Heart range the VH410 is made from recycled materials so if you are concerned about helping the environment then this may be a good choice of headset if you are in the market for one. In a world when anyone who drives needs to be hands free could the Vodafone VH410 be a cost effective solution?

Only one way to find out and that’s to read on.

HTC 7 Mozart and Windows Phone 7 Review

HTC 7 Mozart and Windows Phone 7 ReviewThe HTC 7 Mozart is the smallest of HTCs Windows Phone 7 offerings here in the UK. It isn’t that small though – the 3.7 inch SLCD screen is more than capable of taking on most other devices in a stand off. Combined with its 1GHz processor, 8MP camera with Xenon flash and the brand new OS from Microsoft I think I am going to enjoy this review.

Exclusive to Orange the 7 Mozart is in stores now and awaiting your purchase. I hope the review will help you make your mind up whether to give Windows Phone 7 a try.

Blackberry Style 9670 Review – TCPJ

blackberry-style-2

As I have mentioned a few times recently, we here in the UK are not due to get the BlackBerry Style 9670 so I thought I would send you in the direction of thecellphonejunkie. Mickey who runs the site has completed an in depth review of the Style. As a BlackBerry user himself why not check out what he thinks of RIM’s first full QWERTY flip BlackBerry?

If you are a BlackBerry fan go check this one out. I’m a bit jealous actually. I kind of want a BlackBerry Style.

See Mickey’s review here.

FaceVision TouchCam N1 webcam and Revolabs xTag microphone reviews

How do you test a webcam these days? No, that’s not a joke question. It’s a real problem. Same with a microphone – these days, it’s either it works or doesn’t. But the pair of devices I tested is somewhat different to the rest of their herds.

Orange San Francisco Review

SanFran-main

The Orange San Francisco is the latest budget handset from the network. We recently reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Apollo which was a bargain at £150 and now we have the San Francisco at a mere £99!

The device is actually made by ZTE and their version is called the Blade. As you will see below you get fantastic specs for £99 and this one could well be bargain of the year.

Interested in the device? Then read on for an insight into what comes standard on the device and a few extra apps you may want to download.

Sony Ericsson Zylo review

zylo-main The Zylo is a mid priced Walkman mobile from Sony Ericsson and is a hefty addition to the Walkman mobile phone range. The Zylo is a substantial feeling device. It weighs in at 115 grams, which is by no means excessive however the Zylo certainly has a quality feel. It does a great job of setting itself aside from the lower priced Walkman devices in the range.

The Zylo is a classic slider device with numerical keypad and classic Walkman control on its face.

Read on to see what I think of one of Sony Ericsson’s latest Walkman handsets.

Virgin Mobile VM800 Review

Virgin Media VM800 Here we have one of Alcatel’s latest mobile handsets, the VM800 now this one is the virgin media version but there are sim free versions that go by the name OT-800. As there are so many mobile phones manufacturers producing entry level handsets these days how will this with its full QWERTY keypad cope?

Intrigued? Read on to find out more.
