HTC Salsa Review

HTC Salsa It seems ages since we were all drooling over Mobile World Congress back in February but here we are 6 months on having seen HTC, Samsung etc release most if not all of their announced devices from MWC. HTC announced no less than 6 products at MWC including 5 mobile phones. By the end of this month all 6 (plus the Sensation) will have been released upon the world.

The one that I have here for review is the HTC Salsa. This along with the HTC ChaCha has a special feature in it, a dedicated Facebook button.

Will this extra special feature float the social needs of users? Will it’s distinctly familiar looks put people off? So enjoy my HTC Salsa review, read on and all will be revealed.

HTC ChaCha review

HTC ChaCha review One of the most interesting phones to come out of Mobile World Congress from HTC was the HTC ChaCha. The Market hasn’t been kind to front facing keyboard, Android devices and there has never been a hit model for this form factor.

Instead of going the whole hog and building a much rumoured Facebook phone, HTC decided to cover both popular form factors, the Candy bar and front facing keyboard, and focus on a heavier Facebook integration. To date the front facing keyboard has only been address by Samsung and Motorola in a more professional yet lower quality approach. HTC saw a gap in the market and pushed out a higher quality, yet cost conscious front facing, Qwerty keyboard phone.

Combining their popular HTC Sense over a popular texting form with the social network manic in mind, how could HTC fail?

Motorola Atrix Review

Motorola-Atrix-big The Motorola Atrix is said to be the most powerful smartphone and on paper it seems to be so: 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, 1GB RAM, qHD screen, 8MP camera and 720p video recording are all impressive but for some Motoblur’s inclusion may be the deciding factor for making a purchase or not.

Specs are not the only cool things on paper going for the Atrix as it can be docked into a laptop dock so you can carry your entire office around with you, all being powered by the Atrix!

So does the claim live up to fact in reality? Is Motoblur bad enough to hinder a purchase? Should this be your next smartphone? Read on to find out!

HTC Sensation review

htc sensation reviewWhen HTC announced 5 new phones at MWC earlier this year there was some criticism that there wasn’t a dual-core model there in the lineup. With LG and Samsung there with handsets featuring dual-core CPU’s the expectation was that HTC should at least be following the competition, lets face it, HTC are more accustomed to being leaders rather than followers.

However, maybe the critics should have had a little more faith that HTC had something up their sleeves as less than two months after MWC, HTC were holding their own press even here in London to announce the new HTC Sensation. Not only does it include the much coveted dual-core CPU but includes a 540 x 960 resolution QHD display which is the first to have a Gorilla Glass screen that’s curved on all edges.

Other new features such as HTC Sense 3.0 and the 8 mega-pixel camera with instant capture technology and 1080P video recording means that not only is this certainly HTC’s flagship handset but it’s also one of the best specified on the market today.

I’ve been using the sensation for a little over a week, so if you want to find out what I think of it you’ll have to read on!

Samsung Galaxy Pro (GT-B7510) review

Samsung Galaxy Pro We all know now that Samsung are a force in the mobile phone industry but we also know that they really like the word ‘Galaxy’ as they seem to use it with every phone they release with the exception of a few. So when I found out that I was to review one of Samsungs’ newest devices, the Samsung Galaxy Pro or GT-B7510 I was a little sceptical of what I might find.

So if you are wondering if this phone stands out from the crowded mobile phone market or whether it just doesn’t cut the mustard then please read on to find out.

Dolphin Browser HD review

images (2) Dolphin Browser HD: Can it keep its head above water in the ocean of the browser market?

With the rapid progression of mobile phones, the need for mobile browsing has increased dramatically to match the individual needs of the average consumer. Dolphin Browser HD is a free application, currently only available on the Android platform, however rumours spread that it could be released on to iOS and Symbian in the coming months but these are still to be confirmed. The question is; will it sink or swim in sight of all the competition?

HTC Flyer Review

HTC FlyerHTC have excitedly produced their first venture into the tablet market with the HTC Flyer. A 7" Android tablet running version 2.3.3 Gingerbread on a newly designed 1.5ghz processor. No dual-core and no Honeycomb might not sound like a tablet to get too excited about however the Flyer has a few tricks up it’s sleeve to make it stand out from what looks to be becoming a rather crowded market.

BlackBerry PlayBook Review

BlackBerry PlayBook ReviewJust a couple of weeks after the BlackBerry PlayBook launched in North America I was lucky enough to get one of the first review devices to arrive here in the UK. To say I have been looking forward to reviewing the PlayBook would be an understatement. As a big BlackBerry fan I am hoping I can see the PlayBook taking over the role of my Apple iPad which I use every morning and evening. Could this smaller form factor make me take a tablet to work with me each day?

The PlayBook is RIM’s first attempt at the tablet market and many have been quick to slate the PlayBook. I am going to give it a fair crack of the whip and by the time this review is complete I would have spent nearly three full weeks with the device. Now although I am a BlackBerry fan I hope you all realise from past experience that if a product does not live up to expectation we here at tracyandmatt will certainly say so.

Lets crack on and have a good look around both the hardware and software of what I am hoping will be my new companion.

Samsung Wave 2 Review

Wave2-mainThis is quite a rarity these days, a Samsung phone that doesn’t have the Galaxy brand name. The Samsung Wave 2 is the successor to the relatively popular Wave from last year. It has a few really nice improvements that are evident from the off, all of which you will discover as you progress through the review.

James reviewed the original Samsung Wave last year and it got a pretty good review, especially for a new OS. The Wave 2 has lost the AMOLED screen that its predecessor had I am afraid but I wont let dampen my thoughts.

So will the Wave 2 be a worthy entry into the mass smartphone market? Or will it just be another entry that gets left behind?

Read on to find out.

Samsung Galaxy S II (GT-I9100) Review

Samsung Galaxy S II Samsung rocked the Android world last year with the original Galaxy S, which quickly became one of the biggest selling phones of 2010. But now the Korean giant has come out with a successor under the originally named moniker, the Galaxy S II. Samsung’s 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3″ Super AMOLED Plus screen, a 8MP camera with 1080p video recording and 1GB of RAM are just some of the amazing features packed into the sequel to Samsung’s most successful Android handset to date.

Arguably the most anticipated phone of 2011 but it it is truly worthy of that title? Is this handset a worthy successor to last years model? And can it compete with other dual-core smartphones such as the HTC Sensation?

Well, you’d better read on to find out!
