Red Bull Charges Onto Samsung SMART TV

Samsung Electronics, the UK’s number one TV brand with the most awarded TV range, today announced the availability of Red Bull TV on its SMART TV platform. The high-octane channel brings extreme sports coverage and original programming to the world’s most engaging home entertainment system.

Red Bull TV brings the world of sports, urban lifestyle, music, games, pop culture and live events into the homes of viewers as a live channel as well as offering video-on-demand which is perfect for today’s hectic lifestyle.

2012 is a major year for UK sport and with the Red Bull TV app, users will be able to access all the extreme sporting action they could want via their SMART TV.

“The new Red Bull app brings even more exciting extreme sports action to our Smart TV range. This complements our existing 3D action sports content from Red Bull found on Samsung’s Explore 3D app. This year will be a massive year for UK sport and we’re very excited that Red Bull has brought yet another exciting reason for consumers to maximise their enjoyment of Samsung Smart TV.,” said Guy Kinnell, Marketing Director for TV, Samsung UK.

Red Bull TV will join an ever-growing collection of services available on Samsung Smart TVs such as BBC iPlayer, LOVEFiLM, Netflix, YouTube, Teletext Holidays, Rightmove, Thomson Local, Facebook and Twitter giving viewers a huge choice of content for the television. ‘Samsung Apps’ is the first and biggest App store available for TVs, with almost 20 million Apps already downloaded worldwide, proof that consumers are rapidly embracing the Smart TV format. 

Samsung Smart TVs have a Smart Hub that opens up content from specially designed Apps, the internet and other access points directly from the TV. The Smart TV also acts as the entertainment hub for the home as it connects wirelessly to other devices such as smartphones, laptops or tablets so users can show photos or stream music on the big screen.
