Carphone Warehouse iPhone 3G success

image After yesterdays dismal O2 performance its now time to give The Carphone Warehouse a big thank you. I decided to brave the weather, sleep deprivation and crowds and ventured out early this morning to try and nab an iPhone 3G. My first stop was the O2 store in Team Valley Gateshead only to be met with a huge queue of at least 50 people and if rumours are to be believed, stock of only a few dozen iPhones.

image No point staying there, so I ventured up to The Carphone Warehouse Store at Kingston Park where there were only four people in the queue. I waited in line and was greeted with the news that they only had 16 iPhone 3G’s in stock, by opening time the queue had swelled to about 30 people but I was in luck this time, I walked out with a 16 Gig iPhone 3G after a long wait due to O2’s credit checking system crashing in the middle of the sale. My thanks go out to the staff of Carphone Warehouse Kingston Park Newcastle Upon Tyne for the excellent way they dealt with the whole process from start to finish particularly Emma who looked after me throughout.
