This rumour has been circulating for a while now but the noise is getting louder now. Macworld think Apple may be closing in on a deal with Carphone Warehouse under which the latter firm will begin selling Macs in-store across the UK. AppleInsider is also claiming that Mac-related 'placeholder' items have appeared within the Carphone Warehouse internal computer system, prompting speculation on an such a deal. For me this would make perfect sense, Apple do not have enough stores in the UK so this would be a great way for them to hit the high street and this would also enable Carphone Warehouse to offer big discounts on MacBooks if bought with a Mobile Broadband contract.
