No this isn't a mistake or a repeat-post but in fact HTC just released another ROM update for the HTC Touch Diamond. This time it's version 1.93 and is available for the UK and other European countries.
As with other HTC ROM updates, in order to download the update you must have an HTC Touch Diamons and have registered it's serial number through your e-club account. Once you have done this then the download will be available as a "Phone Software Update" in the "My Downloads" section of your account.

The download is just over 98MB in size and the update process takes around 20 minutes to perform. This is a full ROM update so EVERYTHING will be wiped from your Diamond (Internal Storage is Safe) during the upgrade so be sure to backup all of your important data before you begin the update process!
Updated in this ROM:
I'm downloading this ROM update at the moment and I'll let you know how I get on with it later.

What Radio version is there in this one?
the FM radio, or something else?
:(
Has anyone successfully managed to update from anywhere?
I have t-mobile branded diamond (MDA IV) and would like to get the file to flash the ROM however, because my mda has a TM S/N htc won't allow me to download, is there someone who has and can send me the file?
branded phone? As this would get past the HTC e-club blocking system and
allow all Orange users to download the new ROM
Thank you in advance,
APC
I have a HTC Diamond from Orange, but every time I try to download the update it won't allow me.
Even worse is that the HTC customer service is pathetic. I sent them an email over a week ago, and no reply.
I hated my Blackberry, now I'm beginning to think the same of my HTC Diamond (the update is very much needed for my mobile, as the TouchFlo is running very slowly), I knew I should have purchased the iPhone.
there you can find info to upgrade your diamond.

There are all info and link to download bootloader that permits to flash any rom on your diamond.
Can anyone confirm if this is true? Or whether you *only* need to update the bootloader with HardSPL??
Download the 1.93 update : http://www1.orange.co.uk/diamond/RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE_1.93.405.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship.exe
IF U NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE SPRITE MOBILE BACKUP SOFTWARE U CAN GO TO:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QLZH32G1
AND DOWNLOAD IT FREE(TRIAL VERSION BUT DOES THE JOB)P.S REMEMBER TO ENTER THE VERIFICATION LETTERS NEXT TO THE MEGAUPLOAD BANNER SIGN
simple now, backup your data and run the update... ALSO REMEMBER THE ROM UPDATE DELETES ALL THE DATA FROM YOUR PHONE SO THE BACKUP IS NECESSARY IF U DONT WANT TO LOSE YOUR DATA...
GOOD LUCK
Anyone tried it with proper success? I don't want (another) Brick!
Set up MS Exchange (I've signed up for mailbyhtc.com which seems brilliant) and that works fine...
Have just updated the ROM to the new version from Orange's site, and it's now much faster and crashes far less than before. Am very happy with it!
Music software needs revisiting though, it's a bit messy. I'm not actually convinced it's any better then Windows MEdia Player mobile which hides behind it, but it's not a feature I really use.

thank you so much

Thanks HASAN for the link. i tried and it worked perfectly. Even i have unlocked Orange phone and it didn't block anything. its working pretty well now.
Also, Rob Taylor,
i had same problem like you, but got some tricks to increase the battery time. and it really enhanced my phone's battery life. please try following settings.
To Increase Batter time, please do settings as follows:
* Go to start>settings>connections>Beam. Turn the Beam off from there
* Go to start>settings>connections>advanced network. Turn off “HSDPA” if you are not using it right now. It is a huge battery sucker
* Go to start>settings>Phone. Go to the Band(tab). Select GSM from the “network type”
* Make sure the WiFi radio is off, if you are not using it.
* Use the task manager to terminate the applications that are not in use. More the number of applications running in the background implies more load on the CPU and thus, it will suck more battery than you can imagine. Fortunately, almost all versions of the HTC Diamond come with HTC Task Manager to manage the tasks.
* Personally, I recommend using the Dinarsoft Handyswitcher(reviewed here) instead as it is much more faster and responsive than the HTC’s own task manager. Before installing it, please make sure to disable the HTC’s task manager. To do this, go to start>settings>system>’task manager’>button (tab)>”untick” both of the checkboxes to disable it.
* Make sure the “key lock” is on. It will prevent accidental key presses when your device will be in your pocket. To do this, go to start>settings>system>key lock and select “lock all buttons except power button”.
