The HTC Touch Diamond is the one device that everyone seems to be talking about and lusting after at the moment and today I discovered that the phone maybe a step closer to launch on the Orange network, as it appears in their latest (June) catalog as one of the devices in the 'coming soon' section.

As you can see from the scan above it looks like Orange are simply calling it the HTC Diamond, dropping touch from it's name.
No official release date from Orange but our sources suggest that it will be sometime this month (June).
We should be getting our review unit in the next few days so please let us know if you have any questions or if there is anything specific that you would like us to cover.

Cheers.
Think I might just go over to O2...
or vodafone.
i have checked the maps and they seem to be better than O2.
i really wouldnt mind getting this on vodafone as i can assume they are
better than orange, but the only thing is is vodafone's tarriffs, they
hardly have any good text tarrifss. so i will be venturing to orange now
to look at the zoo of animals. ^^
i just hope when it does come out that i actually manage to get one as i can see there being a big demand on this phone.
hopefully the world wont end b4 orange actually release it...!
been witing for over 2 months since i got wind of this phone and so cant wait to see it in action
The wait continues!
What are everyones thoughts on the samsung omnia? No sign of it even on "coming soon" pages of any network but they press launched it the same day as the new iphone!
2 heinz beans cans and a length of string, motorola startac, nokia 6210i, nokia 6310i, sony ericsson t18, nokia 6100, nokia 6600, nokia 6680, spv c500, nokia n80 (big mistake!), spv m3100, HTc Tytn2, who knows what next!

Think I'll hold out for http://www.sonyericsson.com/x1/
I've not tried an X1 yet, but I think it sounds promising. The rumour is for a September release.
Where did you try one out? Did it have the newer ROM?
Matt
I know what you mean about the X1 being thicker, but I'm more prepared to compromise on that than I am on function and useability.
Anyone know what the Orange capping is? Their website is next to useless... I mean, unlimited for 2 months?! So what do you pay after? £8 for 30mb it would appear (the Orange World Data bundle) unless someone can link me to different information.
Anyone know how decent 500MB is?
Search for "unlimited bundles".
It says 500MB per month.
Moses parted the red sea...
Noah saved the recreation of mankind...
Jesus drunk red wine...
and now Orange finally release the HTC Diamond. Just ordered mine with a solo 35 tariff and they said it should arrive within 3 days. I was quite surprised they were still in stock but the woman was cautious that it may go out of stock whilst i was on the phone so if you haven't already, ring them quick..!
I feel like i have achieved an ambition he he he.
Hopefully it lives up to its nurtured hype and that i dont have to send back within the 8 days.
First time in 4 upgrades i havent had to go down the retention route, staying with panther 45, taking the unlimited landline calls and the "unlimited" browsing. Having to give up my orangeworld browsing which i was paying £8 for 1000mb a month, not sure im doing the tight thing there but time will tell. Also losing my free insurance so that balances out the reduced cost for data. Should save about £2 a month!
Fingers crossed!
how is the phone funtion wise does it live up to what u expected?
good news is that i aranged my contract £20 per month on an 18 month contract including unlimited data and texts and the phone was only £25 not going to complain.
hoping to get the upgrade now on monday not holding my breath!!!!
panther 45 for £25 a month for 9 months and then £30 a month for rest 9 months..
hope orange doesnt muck up the diamond software too much..
i hate it because the software that orange adds to the phone normally slows it down further and it looses some of its original features.
does any one know when i can debrand the handset as really dont want the orange software on it at all..
Still, Waiting for my phone been told its going to be monday... Hurrayyy
Build quality is superb and I get massive interest everytime I place it on the table in my local pub....it looks amazing.
I used the HTC on the net for around 12hrs so far and it's cool. No problems, just a few sites not displaying correctly???
Downlaoded a few of talking books and take the HTC to bed with me every night. Totally delighted with it...
Still need to pick up a nice leather case for it. Any recommends?????
