Sony Ericsson join the Windows Mobile party

Mobile World Congress kicks off today and already news is flooding out all over the place!

Sony Ericsson have just announced that they are entering the Windows Mobile market with their new XPERIA mobile devices, starting out with the X1.

The X1 is a very cool looking and well spec'ed device, take a look at the press release from Sony Ericsson below.

I am pleasantly surprised by this move. Will be interesting to see how this pans out. From the single screenshot it looks okay but as we all know, one cuckoo doesn't make a summer, or something rubbish like that :-)

Check out the better pictures at the official website http://www.xperia.com/ now I don't know about you, but doesn't that keyboard look strange and maybe uncomfortable? Its got weird angle keys to fit the design of the diamond shaped front buttons.
Seems to me they are trying to add a touch of sophistication to the design but those keys... argh that cannot be comfortable for long emails surely?

I am REALLY excited about this phone. Always used to have Ericsson phones until I got the XDA Mini-S.

Hope you get your hands on a review model soon and fingers crossed it doesn't cost the earth.
