BlackBerry Q10 demo video

06/05/13@08:08 by Matt - 144 words

blackberry-q10 The BlackBerry Z10 has now been on sale since the end of January but many die hard fans have been waiting patiently for the Q10 as it sports the traditional hardware QWERTY keyboard that BlackBerry have been so renowned for.

The Q10 made its debut a week ago at Selfridges and I'm pleased to say that of the two thousand SIM free devices they had in stock they sold out! It seems that the Q10 Is off to a flying start.

Running BlackBerry 10.1 the Q10 software is the same as on the Z10 however it's also the first BlackBerry to have AMOLED display and to get the most out of this many of the apps on the Q10 now have a black theme, such as BBM and the Calendar.

Sony Xperia Z Review

04/05/13@09:22 by Chris - 6713 words

Xperia-Z-front-40-wet-v2-1024x1024 Sony have been trying their best over the past months since buying the Ericsson half of the company to release smartphones that are capable of competing with the 'big boys' as it were. Their issue with that idea though has been timing, what I mean by this is the fact that last year their flagship device was the Xperia T, which they released a long time after HTC's One X and even the Samsung Galaxy S3 and we all know how good they both were and still are!

So Sony have some ground to make up you could say, well their latest and greatest device is what I have here, the Xperia Z and it is an absolute beast! Both aesthetically and on the hardware side too so maybe 2013 will be the year that Sony can absolutely compete with their considerable competition?

To find out all of the answers that you seek please do read on, but not before watching the Sony Xperia Z unboxing video from Matt, unless you already have of course!

A Nexus 11 coming?

03/05/13@07:20 by Gareth - 149 words
Categories: Rumours, Tablets

nexus_10_large-full-frontalThere's a new rumour hitting the web regarding the next generation Nexus Tablet from Samsung. Supposedly, Samsung is working on the Nexus 11, which will actually be an 11-Inch Premium style tablet. We've heard mention about this previously, but today we have a few more specs supposedly leaked. Here's the skinny:

  • 11-inch Super PLS TFT display
  • 8-megapixel rear camera & a 2-megapixel front-facing camera
  • A microSD slot
  • Samsung's Exynos 5 octa-core processor (this was rumored previously)
  • Most likely Android 5.0

What is obviously new about this is the odd 11-inch display. If this intel is accurate, we may be seeing three new Nexus style tablets this year. Earlier rumours suggested a new generation Nexus 10 and Nexus 7. Of course, if Samsung is doing a Nexus 11, it may instead replace the Nexus 10 in the lineup. What do you guys think of a tablet this size?

HTC One (retail) unboxing video

01/05/13@07:41 by Matt - 309 words

htc-one It's been about six weeks since I first got my hands on the HTC One and I recorded the typical unboxing and demo video.

The unit I unboxed back then was a pre-release unit and although it was final hardware it wasn't final ROM nor was it in final retail packaging, coming instead in the customary plain white box from HTC.

So for the sake of completeness I thought I would record another video now that I have the retail version in my hands to show what you get if you buy an HTC One on the high street, and also to recap the specs.

If you are looking for a bit more detail please check out the earlier HTC One demo video.
