Pick up an iPhone for just 50 pence a day

Carphone Warehouse is giving customers the opportunity to get their hands on an iPhone for the super value price of 50p a day (£17 a month), making it cheaper than a chocolate bar, pint of milk or bus ticket. This is the first time that an iPhone contract has been available for under £20 a month at Carphone Warehouse, and will allow a new group of customers to get their hands on the premium Apple iPhone 4 handset.

The new tariff, available on Friday 10th May, has been introduced by Carphone Warehouse in response to a growing number of consumers who want smartphones at consistently accessible price points.

Samsung Knox approved by department of defense for use in the US Government

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., today announced that Samsung Knox-enabled devices have been approved by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for use in DoD networks. The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has finished successful testing of Samsung Knox devices.

With the official approval, Samsung Knox-enabled devices, including smartphones and tablets, will be listed as approved products for use by U.S. government and military officials within DoD networks. The DoD security requirement guidelines for mobile operation systems are one of the highest security standards in the world and this marks the first time for Android-powered devices to meet such high security requirements.

EE roll out 4G to more UK towns

EE, the UK’s most advanced digital communications company, today announced that 4G is available in 12 more towns across the UK, bringing the total number of towns and cities covered by the superfast mobile network to 62.

Today, 4GEE is being switched on in Aylesbury, Berkhamsted, Billericay, Blackpool, Brentwood, Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Lytham St Annes, Marlow, Pontefract, Thame and Windsor as roll out continues to progress ahead of schedule. 4G from EE now covers the homes and businesses of more than 50% of the UK population. By the end of June, EE is committed to launching 4G in at least another 18 towns and cities, bringing the total to 80, and aims to cover 70% of the population by the end of 2013.

Virgin Media has announced that its TiVo and Broadband customers will be able to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy S4 from just £31* per month when it hits stores this Saturday.

Virgin Media TV broadband or home phone customers who choose the Samsung Galaxy S4 will get £5 off their monthly mobile tariff, inclusive insurance worth £7.99 per month and unlimited calls and texts to other Virgin Media mobiles.
