Dishonored: Knife of Dunwall DLC

imageXbox 360 and PC gamers Mark April 16th in your diaries as this is the day of the second piece of three DLC packs for the Bafta award winner Dishonored will be released, sorry PS3 owners you will have to wait a whole extra day to get your hands on this digital download, but it sounds like it will be worth that little wait.

With a pocket friendly price tag of £7.99 and 800 Microsoft points respectively, this could be worth having a go at because the main campaign was absolutely fantastic and in this piece of DLC you get to play one of the bad guys..we all like to be bad now and then right?

Gamers will play this story driven DLC pack as Daud the Assassin who murdered the empress at the beginning of the original story, you will discover the mystery of Delilah and you will also receive brand new weapons, powers and gadgets which drive the gameplay and helps with the players choices within the game.
Players will also be able to explore new locations/areas such as the Rothwild Slaughterhouse, you will also receive abilities such as the ‘Summon Assassin Power’ which allows you to summon whalers, one of the coolest additions are unique upgrades to all of the current powers.

Exiting stuff!

A little marketing tactic from Samsung

Note8-pic2There is a larger majority of people out there who believe that the iPad is the be all and end all of tablets. Some who would never entertain the idea of looking elsewhere. There are more and more choices out there, and perhaps the history of Android tablets doesn’t paint an inviting ecosystem. Samsung’s latest tablet campaign looks set to dispel the idea that their Android tablets are cheap and nasty alternatives. Samsung’s ad literature highlights the primary differences between their upcoming Galaxy Note 8.0 Tablet and the iPad Mini.

Here are a series of pics from Samsung detailing 6 reasons why their product might be the better choice. Obviously the usefulness of some of these differences will be relative to each user. Also, since this comes straight from Samsung, it is obviously biased, but it could still prove useful to a customer.

HTC one unboxing and demo video

HTC_ONE_VIDEO I got my HTC One just a few days ago and so far have really enjoyed the experience. I’ve been working on the review already and no doubt many of you have seen me tweeting from the device already.

Here at last we have our first video of the new HTC One. In this video I show off the hardware and talk about some of the key features of the device and its specification. I then go on to look at the user interface and some of the new features of HTC Sense 5.0 including Blinkfeed and Zoe.

So check out the video below and look at that benchmark score! I’ll have more videos up later too.

Mobile Tech Addicts Podcast 200 announcement

Web bannerIt is with great sadness we are informing you that there will be a delay for the much anticipated 200th installment of The Mobile Tech Addicts podcast. Our decision to have a short hiatus is down to a number of things. Firstly, we want to make it a memorable occasion, injecting every resource we have to celebrate this milestone. Secondly, we had hoped to have a couple of special “features” in place for the show that didn’t quite come together in time. Thirdly, I, Gareth, am in the process of building an elaborate  command centre for the show and this has suffered a couple of set backs.  There is a fourth reason but it just seems like I’m making excuses. sorry.

We will, however, reconvene in the very near future and provide you with that injection of tech you so obviously crave.

HTC One release update

HTC One_Silver_Left We have had an update from an official HTC distributor that the HTC One is now expected to arrive with them on 29th March.

http://www.expansys.com/htc-one

So if this correct it is unlikely to be available for UK consumers until after the Easter break – ie Tues 2nd April.

However, like many releases we remain hopeful that this date will change and that the device will still be available in March.

Will keep you posted with any updates as we get them.

HTC One arrives

HTC One I first got to see the HTC One a few weeks ago and since then I have been waiting impatiently to get my hands on one to play with and review.

I’ve mentioned in earlier posts about being impressed with the phone and being more excited about the HTC One than any other phone for quite some time but the past few weeks have made me wonder if my desire for the phone has simply been fuelled by not having one and whether once I had one here it would be less exciting than I remembered.

So my HTC One arrived just a short time ago, I’ve already set it up and have been playing with it. Do I like it as much as I thought? You’re going to have to wait and see, I’ll be tweeting and commenting about it all day I suspect and there will be an HTC One unboxing video up shortly! 🙂

How to make a successful mobile phone insurance claim

mobile phone insurance This week the Financial Ombudsman has suggested that there has been a record number of complaints being processed about mobile phone insurance based on failed claims, so with this in mind we did some digging and have managed to find a quote from the Director of www.mobileinsurance.co.uk Jason Brockman about why he thinks there have been so many complaints and how he and his company believe to be the right way to make a mobile phone insurance claim.

We hope that the following statement and follow up information on the website at the bottom help you guys to gain more knowledge about mobile phone insurance so that it gives you peace of mind as much as anything.

Introducing the Asus Transformer AiO

asus-transformer-aio-2When Asus gets motivated to go all out on a device, they throw everything but the kitchen sink at it, and yesterdays unveiling is a prime example of that. Asus officially announced the full specs, pricing and availability dates of their new Asus Transformer AiO. Here’s a full breakdown on this beastly device.

For the PC half of the device:

  • 18.4-inch display with Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution – with 10-point touch
  • Windows 8
  • Intel Core i5-3350P processor
  • Up to 8 GB of RAM
  • 1 TB HDD
  • GeForce GT 730M GPU
  • SuperMulti DVD Drive there
  • USB 3.0, HDMI, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and an SD card reader

For the Tablet Half: (Asus Eee Pad design aesthetics)

  • 18.4-inch display with Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution – with 10-point touch
  • Nvidia Tegra 3 processor
  • 2 GB of RAM
  • 32 GB of on-board storage
  • A microSD support
  • 1 MP front-facing cam
  • 32 Whr battery capable of around 5 hours of continuous use
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • 5.28 pounds by itself

Of course, a monster device like this does come with a monster price. It will hit retail outlets April 12th for $1299. Still, many AiO PCs sell for the same price, so ultimately the fact that you have a fairly powerful new PC that doubles as a dock for your multi-OS Android/Windows 8 tablet, is a pretty good deal overall.
